Sebastian sat on the passenger side of Rafael's car as they drove around the streets of New York. Rafael sighed, breaking the ice. "Say, 'Bas, how close are you with those Faustini kids?"
Sebastian looked away from the window and at Rafael with a bothered expression, this being most of their usual exchanges.
"I'm just asking, something came up." Rafael uttered as Sebastian remained fixated on him, Rafael took note. "How about we have five minutes of honesty, I'll tell you secrets, we won't judge and we'll never hear of them again, okay?" Rafael proposed as Sebastian remained silent. "I'll go first, you know when I said I didn't know what happened leftovers? I lied. I ate them."
"Shocking." Sebastian said sarcastically.
"Look, you're like a brother to me and all that domestic stuff. If something's up, let me know." Rafael replied as Sebastian sighed heavily. "Alright, what if I push a response out of you? Talk about Elena Faustini."
"Why Elena of all of them?" Sebastian asked and for once, Rafael was silent. "Alright then. Elena- I met her when she was eight. Out of all of them, I think she sees me for who I am, but whether that's a lack of empathy for others on her part or us having a bond of sorts is questionable."
Rafael shuffled in his seat. "So, do you care about her enough? Because I'm about to break a confidentiality agreement-"
"Just get to the point already, Rafael." Sebastian rolled his eyes.
"Landon Laiture requested a file on Elena Faustini- don't worry, I just gave them the simple stuff." Rafael shrugged. "Y'know, doctors records, he won't get through the first twenty pages- Elena's very sickly, isn't she?" Sebastian didn't answer. "Oh come on, she's clean as far as the eye can see. You wouldn't believe how many fifteen year olds I've met that've been arrested."
"I was about to leave the city and never speak to them again but..." Sebastian shook his head, interrupting Rafael's poor attempts of conversation. "I think I should tell her about this."
"And this totally isn't an attempt to get her to convince you to stay." Rafael laughed.
Sebastian shook his head and resumed staring out the window. "It's not. I'm too professional to care. Now drive to the Faustini penthouse, It's not like we'll be doing anything else today."
Rita and Elena were walking down the street after having purchased pretzels. "I've told you before, Elena, no sane man could handle you." Rita walked in front of her, rambling away. "And I've told you this, because that's the kind of person I am. If something comes to my mind I'm just gonna say it."
Elena shrugged. "I thought when you said that you meant, like, a broke guy."
"I meant all guys." Rita clarified.
"Why're we talking about this?" Elena quickly shot back. "I came here to complain about my dad."
"I'm just trying to help you. All the drama that comes along with being in a relationship is why I'm single." Rita stopped.
"Yeah, that's why." Elena rolled her eyes, finally catching up to Rita.
As they chatted away, a car pulled up beside them, but the car went unnoticed by them as they continued to feud. "That was uncalled for, Elena." Rita shook her head.
"You can throw but you can't catch, Rita." Elena laughed away. She went to continue walking but stopped when she finally noticed the car.
Sebastian got out and Rita gasped in horror. "You're supposed to be gone!" She exclaimed.
Sebastian rolled his eyes, addressing Elena only. "I came here to tell you something before I left for good." He spoke quickly.
"Wait, you're leaving?" Elena questioned.
