The next morning, Elena was awoken by Catalina who dropped a tabloid magazine on her face. "Ow!" She remarked as she sat up, a hand against her harmed face. "What the hell!?"
"So much for being too unwell to go to Roman's father's funeral." She pointed to a photograph of Elena, Donatello, Luciana, Alessandro and Sebastian at the amusement park. "For the love of god, please tell me that we're now discovering that Sebastian has a twin."
"I didn't say I was unwell, I said I didn't want to go." Elena threw her blankets off of her body and stepped out of bed.
"That's even worse!" Catalina exclaimed.
"Just get to the point, Catalina." Elena snapped.
Catalina hesitated. "Is he really back?" Catalina asked, referring to Sebastian.
"He said he's here to stay..." Elena shrugged.
Catalina scoffed. "After all he's done... Wouldn't he be afraid of Roman? Does that mean he didn't do it?"
Elena was quiet. "I'm getting breakfast." Elena uttered leaving her room.
"Hey wait!" Catalina exclaimed as she ran after her. "Elena you didn't answer my question!"
Catalina finally caught up to Elena at the end of the hall, Elena had stopped after seeing Roman at the bottom of the stairs. "You didn't show up to my father's funeral, but instead spent the day with his murderer." Roman spat.
Elena raised her chin. "So it seems." Elena shrugged.
"How could you do such a thing? I am your friend, Elena." Roman walked upstairs.
"And so is Sebastian." Elena then burst into a laughter. "But I guess we won't be as good of friends after this conversation."
"You're just as wicked as he is." Roman hissed.
"Then we'll make a club, and we'll invite your mother too. What kind of a coward hires someone else to murder their ex-husband?" Elena asked as she got closer to Roman. "You do know what happened, right? She was the one who hired Sebastian. Your mother is the reason why your dad died."
Roman paled. "That's not true."
"Oh yeah, sure." Elena laughed at him.
"He could have said no!" Roman shouted over Elena.
"That doesn't erase accountability." Elena responded sharply. "I mean a little bit of it, but not entirely. I mean surely she could've taken a few moments to think about how splendid of a plan it was." Roman rolled his eyes. "No really, some teenagers managed to crack the case before the NYPD. I am curious to see what you're going to do next."
"Elena, that's cruel." Catalina commented as Roman was on the edge of breaking down.
"And yet you didn't stop me." Elena replied. "For the record I am sorry for you Roman, but you should never throw blame everywhere but where it belongs."
"You don't seem to understand that my life has been turned upside down, Elena. Stuff like this never happened before." Roman stressed, looking up at her.
"It did, you just didn't see it." Elena began to speak more quietly. "I may be a little harsh, but it helps to see things as they are Roman. Do you really think we have private investigators around for dinner because they're lovely people? Did you really not think twice about what your mother told you? That you'd be safe by running away? Give me an example of when that's actually worked and I'll buy you dinner for the next month."
"But how could my mother do that? Did she even consider how I would feel?" Roman wondered.
Elena sighed. "It looks like you're looking for closure. I'm not sure if I can offer that."
