Inside with basket a mother wept and
cried for her new born girl
Alongside a door she set the babe
outside as an oyster with pearl
Light appeared as the door opened
bright as it spilled on the basket
Despite her worry the new mom took her in
alright with this new bundle of blanket
Within, new mother Mae found the child
Lin, she decided to call her
Begin the story of two different women
in which the chapters blur together
Play, pursue, discover. Lin does and
stray as she might, she knows
Mae is home is where the heart is as
today is but a rose
