Bittersweet Existence

Chapter 16

And he looked into my eyes. His eyes had the deepest shade of blue and they shone with love.  He stroked my lips with his thumb before leaning in a bit.  I felt his warm breath on my lips which made me shiver. Just as our lips were about to meet,  the doorbell rang.

Our eyes shot wide open and he jumped off when he realized what he was doing. 

Only then did I realize too, that isn't right.

I got up and went for the door.

I opened to be greeted by a wide smiling Jay.

"Hey! Nice to finally be here. I'm sure we'll have a great time." he said and winked.

I felt slightly uncomfortable but I smiled back.

"Make sure not too much fun. Ill be leaving now." he said and walked towards Jay.

"She better be okay when I'm back. And don't even dare to try anything on her. I'll tell you, she's mine." I heard him whisper.

What? I'm his? what on earth is he saying??

Jay looked uncomfortable and just nodded.

"Bye June...Jay." with that he left.

"June! so what we do the rest of the day?" He said.

I was too focused on what James said. And especially what happened today.  Does this mean he likes me? I miss him already. With him around there's always some sort of comfort.

"June?" Jay asked, breaking my train of thoughts.

"oh I'm sorry. what were you saying?"

"I was thinking maybe you'd want to have dinner with me, Italian. I know this Amazing restaurant which serves delicious ravioli." He suggested, with a warm smile.

"That would be wonderful, thank you Jay."

I remember the time we went to the Chinese restaurant. He's so thoughtful. I can't believe he remembered what I said.  And to know he did all that for me makes me tingle with happiness.

"June? hello??" Jay said, looking worried.

"I'm so sorry! Um..what time will we leave?"

"6"

"Its 4 right now... I don't do much makeup or straighten or curl my hair so ill get ready at 5."

Jay stood astonished. "You don't apply makeup? Yet you look so beautiful? wow. And even your hair is so beautiful." He said, staring at me.

"Jeez, no.." I blushed.

I went inside to pick what to wear. I had a black shirt dress, so I kept that aside to wear later. I don't wear any accessories either, so I just kept aside  some simple earrings I had and a simple locket.

We were on the couch watching a movie when Jay interrupted and said "its 5" eagerly.

"oh alright .."

I said and went inside to change.

"Oh my God ...." Jay said as he looked at me up and down with wide eyes.

I started to blush and giggle.

"You look stunning June. As usual." He complimented.

I don't feel great doing this with him. I really need James. Now.

"Thank you. You look awfully cuddly in your PJ's" I said and laughed.

"Yeah I'll change" he said laughing.
