Mae steps out of the car and starts to walking to the front door of the police station. Jason was following behind her. "Do you think your friends would still be there?" Jason asked. "If they left, then the police should know where they went," Mae explained. Both of them walked into the building. The man that was sitting at the front desk was Officer Bevel.
"Hello, did Officer William brought you back here?" Bevel greeted her.
"No, a friend did," Mae told him. She motioned to the man that was with her.
Officer Bevel nods then asked, "what brings you here?"
"I'm looking for my friends, do you know where they are at?" Mae asked him.
"I think they went home a few hours ago," Bevel tried to recall.
"Alright, thank you," Mae walked out of the police station with Jason."Where do we go now?" Jason asked.
"Do you know where Penelope lives?" Mae questioned him.
"I'm not quite familiar with the directions," Jason admitted. Mae nods as she got into the car. She didn't know any of the roads so explaining where to go would be a challenge. She did tell him that Penelope's house was up a hilltop. That did give Jason a clue on where he should go.Jason tried to start a conversation by asking Mae some questions. He knows nothing about her so there was a lot to ask. The problem was that Mae couldn't answer most of them. "Are you working?" He asked.
"Yeah," Mae answers.
"Where do you work?"
"The Swirl Station,"
"I don't think I've been there before, I might check into out," Jason thought about it. Mae only smiled and nod. She wasn't good with having a conversation. At least, Jason was trying to get her to continue talking."Do I go in this trail?" Jason asked as he drove to the side of the mountain. There were multiple driveways to go up the mountain but only one can reach Penelope's house. "The next one," Mae said before he could turn into the wrong driveway. Jason drove to the next one and made his ascend up the hill. There was a safe even spot to park his car so it made Jason feel easy. "Damn, this house is nice," Jason admires the house from inside the car. He slowly stepped out and admired how big the house was.
"The inside is fancy," Mae told him. She stepped out of the car with Jason doing the same. Mae walked up to the front door and knocked. About a few seconds later someone opened the door. Libby engulfed Mae into a huge hug. "I'm so glad you are safe," Libby said as she slowly pulled away from the hug. Libby looked up and squinted at the man that was behind her. "That's not Conor," she said. Libby did feel like she should know who it was. "I'm Jason Cornwallis," Jason introduces himself. It finally clicked to Libby that he was Allen's older brother.
"How could I forget about you!? Come in!" Libby instructs them. Jason sat on the couch and got himself comfy. "I'm a good friend of Allen but he never let me meet you," Libby said.
"He's probably embarrassed by me," Jason chuckled.
"I totally want to catch up with you," Libby smiled.
Jason gave a chuckle before looking at the clock. "I wish I can stay and chat but I have to leave for work," he explained to her.
"I understand, maybe some other time," Libby suggested.
"Sounds great," Jason turned to Mae and smiled. "It was great to meet you too."Jason walked out the door but gave both of the girls one last wave. Libby turned to Mae she still had a bright smile on her face. "I think Allen's brother is cool, I don't know why Allen would be embarrassed for," Libby said. Mae shrugged, she thought Jason was cool too. "So, where is everyone else?" Mae asked.
"Toby and Ashley are sleeping in the guest bedroom, Darrel is sleeping in your room and I was sleeping in Penelope's room. Also, Berwald and Eddie are chilling on the patio," Libby explained to her.
"What about Penelope, PJ, and Nelson?" Mae asked.
"Oh, yeah. They went to the hospital to look for you. I should text them," it took Libby a second to remember where those three were. She then jogged to Penelope's room to get her phone. She had to let them know that Mae was here and safe, she can't let them worry too much.
