"Then she mocked me!" Allen exclaimed as he marched in circles. He explained everything that was said in the conversation between Clare and him. Everyone sat at the picnic tables of the boardwalk to discuss the evidence that was found. Allen was full of rage when he told them about the conversation. Ashley was writing every detail to keep it in track.

"We also found this where Mae woke up at," Conor said as he placed the bracelet on the table. "Isn't that the bracelet I made him?" Libby asked. Allen picked it up and examined it. "It is" he said.
"Does that mean Mae was the one to transform Nelson?" Pj asked. Ashley started writing more on the notebook.
"Yes, but I don't hold anything against her" Allen said. It wasn't right for him to be mad at Mae for trying to live a happy life.

"Wait" Toby swiped the notebook out of Ashley's hand. She was about to protest but he was too content in what he was reading. "From this, Clare wanted to turn Nelson into a siren and this small sentence signifies that she has other targets," Toby said pointing to each chinch of the word.
"Wow, that's brilliant... how did you learn that?" Ashley asked surprised that he was able to piece the puzzles together.
"Thanks, my foster dad was a detective so I picked it up from him" Toby explained.
"Those poor victims" Libby commented.
"We can't pity them right now, our goal is to find Nelson," Allen said as he stood up. He then came up with a plan to see him.

"Darrel we need your boat, Mae you have to come with us, Libby you can tag along. The rest will find evidence here" Allen said taking charge. Darrel jogged down the boardwalk to reach towards the boats. The rest were wondering what he had in mind. "What's your plan?" Pj asked him.
"We are going to find a siren, with Mae's singing we would most likely find one," Allen said.
"It's a good time too," Mae said as she watched the sunset.
"Why's that?" Pj asked.
"Sirens are more careless at nighttime," she told him.
"So they would think it's safe to go towards a singing person?"
"They would assume it's another siren"
"What if they see the boat and retreat?"
"I'll have to show them my face, surely, some will remember me," Mae said.

Darrel has the boat ready and was waiting for them. "Stay safe" Conor told Mae before she left. "I will" Mae reassured as she went to catch up to the group. The dock looked so secluded from the rest of the boardwalk. There is no other noise except for the only boat that was running. Darrel was standing at the center of the dock waiting for them. Lamps were lit to show the way as shadows towered over the water.

"We are all set to go," Darrel said. Everyone got on the boat, sitting on a seat. Darrel went slow while departing the space that was used to park his boat. He accelerated once they were in open water. The air was chilly but Darrel had blankets that they could use. Libby and Mae snuggle up with one blanket as Darrel and Allen have their own. The girls didn't mind, they still stayed warm and that's what truly mattered.

"Here's a good spot," Mae said, it was a deserted area that was decently far from the island. Close by were some tall rocks that could be hazardous if not careful. "We have to wait for a little while since the noise could've frightened them" Mae explained. The boat was turned off and they had to sit in silence. It must be hard to see from the water by his dark it is. So most likely, the sea creatures would come back after a few minutes. The group did extend the time for precaution.

"Go ahead Mae" Darrel said. Mae sat at the side of the boat looking down at the water. Then she started singing. Nobody spoke as they listened to the manipulative song. Mae looked down at the ocean, hoping to see movement. Bubbles started floating up towards the service. Mae sang anxiously as the bubbles became more frequent. She didn't know if anyone else noticed but something was there. Then something emerged from the ocean, catching everyone's attention.

A girl with dark blond hair emerged from the water. She had dark green eyes and was covered with freckles. She smiled brightly at Mae. "I knew that voice sounded familiar!" She said. Everyone leaned over the boat to see her. "You're so lucky to be human!" She said. Then she caught a glimpse of the other people. "Who are they?" She asked.
"It's a long story," Mae told her.

Mae caught the girl up with everything that happened to her. She introduced everyone that she has met and all the events that happened. The group learned that the girl's name was Fawn and has been friends with Mae ever since she turned into a siren. Mae told about the mission to find there friend. "We want to ask you if you've seen him?" Allen said as he pulled out a picture of Nelson. Fawn's eyes lit up as she realized who he is.

"We called him Marten!" Fawn said.
"His name is Nelson, and you need to bring him to us," Allen told her.
"Hold on," Darrel said as he stopped anyone from doing something. He was on the phone with someone. He then closed the phone, he looked worried. "Penelope's missing," he said. Everyone froze in there spot.
"Change in the mission, look out for a chubby girl with blond hair and blue eyes" Allen instructed Fawn. She nods and dived into the ocean. Showing them her pastel purple tail and translucent fin.

"Get in," Darrel said as he started the boat. Everyone got in their seats as the boat started moving. "I hope nothing bad happened to her," Libby said, afraid to lose another friend. It was already dark outside, finding Penelope would be difficult.

On the dock, the rest of the group was waving for them. "I'm going to drop you off," Darrel said as he pulled up to the side of the dock. Allen, Libby, and Mae steppes our of the boat. Toby, Pj, and Conor helped them out so they don't fall out. Darrel drove around to park the boat. Everyone looked worried and was unsure what to do.

"What happened?" Libby asked.
"Conor and I went back to Penelope's house and she wasn't there, so we looked around the town to find her" Pj explained.
"We tried to call her, but she never picked up," Ashley's said.
"I don't know where she could be," Conor said.
"I have a clue, and it's all my fault," Pj said as he covered his face.
"What happened?" Mae asked him.
