John's POV"Today?" Roger questioned. I nodded and Lacey kissed me in excitement. She's been all over me recently. It's disgusting. Really makes her seem desperate, which she is.
"Don't you need a dress and a license?" Brian asked. That was my first question too, but apparently Lacey had figured it all out on the bus ride. She had gotten in touch with the people at the San Francisco city hall and got everything. She said one of the roadies went out and got her a dress.
"Everything is taken care of" Lacey said happily. I nodded and smiled, I didn't really have anything to say. Brian and Roger sat quietly. "Well, almost everything" Lacey chimed in again. I looked at her puzzled. I assumed she meant my dressings but she had that taken care of too. As well as rings and such. I didn't see why this needed to be such a big deal if we were getting married in a court house.
"You need to get your hair cut!" She said. I subconsciously tugged on a strand of my hair. It was long, but so was everyone else's. It's the 70s! Every rock star has long hair. Freddie has cut his a bit shorter, but it was still longer than a short cut. Brian had a mess of curls and Roger had long hair too. Getting it cut felt... wrong.
"W-What are you saying?" I stuttered. Lacey rolled her eyes at me. "It's time for a change! Besides, you'll look much better with short hair. More proper." I cringed at the thought of me without my bangs and shoulder length mop. It wouldn't be natural.
But I can't fight with Lacey. No one can.
"I guess we should be off then" I said, putting down some money for our waiter. Brian and Roger nodded goodbyes as Lacey pulled me to the exit.
"We also need to get something signed before the wedding"
I looked at her confused. "I thought you had everything done for the wedding. No more papers, no more everything" I said. She shook her head. "We don't need to sign it now, just before the ceremony." I didn't know what she was talking about, but better not to question.
We walked to a barber not far from the hotel. It was open, so we went inside. Lacey spoke to the man, telling him what I would supposedly like. I didn't know most of what she was telling him. Only the part about chopping off all the long parts.
I was sat down in a oxblood leather chair. My hair is partly wavy, but no need to wash for it to be untangled. He combed through my hair gently and took out his scissors. Lacey smiled at me through the mirror, afterwards I heard the first 'snip'.
Locks fell off my head in no time. The barber sweeping them up at the end. He spun me away from the mirror to style my hair. Combing through it, and asking Lacey if it was alright. She nodded and he handed me a mirror.
I looked... straight. If that was her plan then it worked. I looked liked the average male, except without long hair. Though, styled were changing so who knows!
"Oh Johnny, you look amazing!" Lacey hugged me as the barber took off my gown. I paid the man and left thereafter. It felt weird not to reach up and feel my long hair. I couldn't fiddle with it when I was nervous now.
I know Freddie likes my long hair. I hope he doesn't like me like this. I certainly know that I don't.
Roger's POV
Brian had gone out to rent us some suits for tonight. He told me he got Freddie one. We left Fred a message about the ceremony tonight, just in case he decides to attend. I wouldn't count on it though.
Things had been though with him as of late. John and Lacey and the so called "baby" were screwing with his head. I know how much Freddie wants a family, and I know that John was who he was planning on having it with.
