"REALLY?" Nanlaki ang mga mata nito. "You are inviting me to your house?"

"Yeah. I'll let you meet Ate Sha."

"Andito na siya? She's back already?" He was quiet. Shems, nakalimutan kong takot pala to kay Ate.

"Huy, wag ka nga matakot. Mabait yun promise. And yes, she came back early in the morning. Kaya nga ang aga ko nagising kasi naririnig ko mga kalampag ng maleta ni Ate e. Hahaha!" I laughed to cheer him up.

"Okay, all for you love." He smiled thay brightened up my whole world.

Tumabi naman ako sa kanya at sinandal ang aking ulo sa kanyang balikat. He started to play our song again and I sang along with him. It was his version, yet I'm making it high kasi high-pitched ako. It was a duet between the both of us. Nag-bblend lang kami ng wala sa oras, and it sounds real good. Then, an idea came to my mind.

"Ogs, why don't you guest on Grazia's?" What I said made him stop playing.

"No, I don't have the confidence." His head lowered.

"Maganda nga boses mo." I said.

"Patay ako sa parents ko kung malalaman nila." He shrugged.

"Sinabi ko bang makikita ka ng mga tao? It will be just like mine." His face lightened up but the doubts are still there. "Sige na, do it for me? Please? One time lang naman e." With puppy eyes on him.

"Basta once lang ah....sige na nga!" Yes! He agreed! Aaaaa this will be exciting! "When? What will we be singing?"

I thought thoroughly. "Tonight. 9PM. And, your choice. Anything. Let me look at your compositions."

I snatched his big notebook. Akmang aagawin pa niya sakin ito but he failed. Hahaha! I skimmed through his creations... wow. This isn't a joke. Super dami! But a certain song caught my attention.

"Herminio Jose, what's this? Bakit Ngayon Ka Lang? Ang ganda ng lyrics. Turuan mo ako. Eto nalang." Turo ko sakanya.

"Hmm, wait let me check." Kinuha niya sakin ang notebook at pumunta sa mga page na may mga notes. "Di ko pa to tapos e. Wala pang mga nota to sa piano ko."

Tumango-tango nalang ako bilang sagot. Kinuha ko ulit ang notebook sa kanya. "What about Hanggang Ngayon?"

Nabigla ako na bigla nalang niyang pinatugtog ang piano... I guess it was Hanggang Ngayon's notes? "Okay. Let me teach you."

Then he started tutoring me. Wala naman kaming kiyeme sa boses because we think we compliment each other's voices. After 10 minutes of teaching me how, kuha na naming dalawa. I was curious about the lyrics, at kung saang inspirasyon siya humugot sa pagsulat nito. Well, that's a thing between songwriters, right? The passion, inspiration and connection between your lyrics. Wow rhymes. Hahahaha.

"Para kanino to?" I asked him.

"It was for Gabby." I was shocked.

"WHAT!? You're bisex-"

"Regine, it's not what you think. Stop that nonsense, ano ka ba."

"Okay, okay." Naloka ako ng bongga. Jusko.

"It was for his first love. Gabby knows I do things like these so ayun, nagrequest."

Imagining Gabby singing that song, I asked. "Did he sang it ba infront of the girl or whatever?"

"I don't know. But it became his favorite." Wow. Iba talaga ang impact ng mga kantang sinusulat neto. Aish, me is inggit. "Tsaka Reg, what about the dinner later?"

"Maaga naman tayo matatapos. Makakahabol pa tayo, 9 pa naman. " I said.
The second floor enveloped with silence."Alam mo, dapat mag-artista ka e. Ang funny mo pwedeng comedian, marunong ka kumanta't sumulat, you may mark songs in the hearts and minds of people." I commented. Tama naman kasi. He is so good.

"Well." He just gave me a small smile. I know that 'well'. Hays. Sayang ka talaga. "How about you? Baka nga talbugan mo si Morisette Amon sa ganda ng boses mo e. You should also be a singer. Tsaka may looks ka naman, bagay ka rin siguro maging aktres." He shot back at me.

"Well." Ginaya ko lang siya, gaya-gaya puto maya pala ha. Sige ka ngayon. Nyahahaha!

We both laughed. "It's okay. Maybe hindi lang talaga yun yung daan para sa atin." He said. "We do have the talent, but we don't have the support and the environment to do that. We are destined to do what is must for the sake of our families. World is cruel, isn't it?" He faked a laugh. I just faked a laugh too para masabayan ko siya. What he said was true. May pera kami, may mga talento kami pero ayun, napupunta sa wala. Yung iba nga dyan, gustong pumunta sa tuktok pero walang talent, hindi kaya. Maybe we'll just be thankful to God that gave us these abilities.

"Drama natin. Kantahin nga natin ulit yung Hanggang Ngayon." Then we sang simultaneously. Practice na kung practice! Hahaha!

"I'm hungry." Reklamo ng tiyan ko na nasabi ko pala. Hala.

"Edi kumain tayo."

"Ay sige bet ko yan." Bago kami bumaba, I looked at their giant clock. It's past 12 na rin pala. Bumaba kami ng hagdanan and went straight to the kitchen.

"What do you want, baba?" He asked me while looking at their refrigerator.

"Anything. Basta mabubusog ako." I said, jokingly. Pero totoo naman, gusto ko mabubusog ako. Hahahaha.

"Masarap ako magluto, baka ma-fall ka lalo niyan." Kapaaaaal.

"Siguro nga. Medyo tagilid ako sa pagluluto. 75 ako dyan. Hahahaha!" I replied. True. I don't have cooking talents or whatsoever. Nagmamanage ng hotel, di alam mga ganun. Hahahaha.

"You're lucky." He smirked. Alam ko ibig sabihin niya. Hangin talaga nako, sarap isumpa niluluto niya. Hahaha, charot.

After ten minutes of cooking, he now arranged the plates and utensils and served the food. Wow, mukhang masarap ah.

I took a bite. "Hmm, it's beef." I commented.

"Yeah. May marinated beef kasi sa ref, medyo niluto ko lang tsaka nilagyan ng sarsa kaya ayan." He said while eating also.

"Galing mag experiment. Hahahaha!" I laughed and we continued eating.

"Nasan nga pala mga maids mo?"

"Namalengke, yung iba may lakad. I let them go and gala outside, besides hindi naman ako always nasa bahay and if ever andito ako, wala naman rin silang masyadong isisilbi sa akin." He trailed off. Well, somehow true. He's a total opposite of Ate. Si Ate kaliwa't kanang utos yun e. Hahaha.

Natapos na kami sa pagkain and I insisted to wash the dishes. Nakakahiya naman kay Ogie, siya na nga nagluto siya pa maghuhugas. He was just sitting on his single couch, watching a soccer game.

Naiimagine ko yung buhay namin, kunyari magpapakasal kami. Ganitong-ganito siguro, plus a kid? It will be awesome. Naglalaro lang siguro yung bata, or hele hele ni Ogie pag nagkataon. Of course ako, tutulungan ko yung mga maids sa paglilinis. Siguro, silang dalawa lang sapat na. My life is already complete. I can't wait to feel those precious moments if ever I'll be getting married. Hopefully, si Ogie na yun.

"What's the matter?" He caught me staring at his area.

"Ay, wala wala." Then got back to the dishes. I was already rinsing the plates whem someone hugs me from the back and puts his head on my shoulder. Edi sino pa ba?

"Imagine a married life. Just you and me. Soon, blessed with a kid or more." He said full of sentimentals in his voice.

"Ewan ko sayo, patapusin mo muna ako heh!" Breaking the kilig inside me. Syempre not revealing I also imagined the scenario kanina.

Putting the last plate on the dish cabinet, ang ngiti kong abot hanggang langit ay di pa rin nawawala.

Hay, Herminio Jose. I can't wait to finally say yes.
