3rd Pov :

It felt...off, being in such a small compartment of a room, with a desk big enough to hold two people on the other side. The first thing Kelsey and Brody noticed as they stepped were not the adults behind the counter but the flag above them, the flag of America pinned on the wall. Then their eyes wandered on the people before them. One woman and one man, looking as of they were ready to go to a wedding rather than arrange a meeting, which was strange in Kelsey's opinion.

She didn't like them, she decided after a bit, they acted in a bizzare way and she thought they were way too serious. The woman had short brown hair with a few highlights in it, along with a long black dress and suiting black high heels. She had make up on, but not a lot, her nails were done and she had an expensive pair of earings in her ears, as well as many actual rings on her hand. Her face was the thing that bothered Kelsey.

This lady had way too many plastic surgeries. She thought ruefully as they were told to sit down on the four chairs prepared for them already. Observing the man, Kelsey didn't think he was any better, he didn't have any hair for starters and besides that, he had an awful set of teeth, all yellow and black. Him wearing a tuxedo didn't improve his appearence  at all. Creepy enough, he was eyeing them both in an unsettling way to the point where Kelsey debated whether she should get out of the room.

"Hello, welcome, I'm glad all four of you could make it-" That was the point she stopped listening, the first sentence that got out of that woman's mouth in her high pitched tone that made Kelsey want to strangle herself.  She droned them all out. She had no idea if her brother was listening, though she doubted it.

For what seemed like hours, the twins sat in their chairs, resisting the temptation to fidget since Leo did tell them it's a bad habit and rude, while concentrating  on the small objects on the wooden desk.  Swinging balls rested right near the edge and Kelsey wanted to play with it but argued against it. No taking other people's things without their permission. More useless stuff was left on the table, like a stapler and a disconnected lamp, tanks of pieces of paper were laid there too, constantly being ordered and cleaned up. At some point, one of these sheets were handed to her father and she finally drone in, she she could hear.

"So we will need you to put an appropriate date of when you want to meet." The woman said, her head held up high "And I would recommend to read the contract as well as sign it. Now if it would be convenient."

Kenny sighed reluctantly before producing a pen out of his pocket and pressing the paper against the desk, reading the words and paragraphs in his mind, silently, before signing it in neat, black lettering. And then, before they knew it, they were done. The woman and man thanked them and they were all dismissed.

"Phew." Brody stated in relief as soon as they got out of the building "I thought they were going to pull us apart and ask us questions like : 'Are your parents treating you right.' kind of shit." She expected her parents to tell him off for swearing but they barely even realised.

"When are meeting with them?" Kelsey enquired, wishing that if she was lucky, she could hide in her room until it was over.

"What, got tired of us honey?" Kenny mumbled in a jokey way but Kelsey took it to the heart and almost started sobbing. She ran up to him and clutched his arms so hard, she thought she stopped his blood circulation.

"NO! I don't want anyone else but you, Brody and papa." She nuzzled her head into his arm and he picked her up.

"I'm just kidding sweetheart. In a few weeks I suppose." He'd said vaguely before letting her down and leading them to their car.

"Alright, that's ages away."

"Not really but in a way, yeah."
