Julius's POV

The past week had gone by fast, the pack was doing well. Training kept on schedule, the borders were secure over our massive territory, no rogue sightings in the past few weeks. A bunch of the older members decided to rent a tour bus and go on a trip for a few weeks. My parents went with to smooth things over if they were to pass into another pack's territory. They left earlier this week and sounded like they were having a blast. Seems they were heading down to the Gulf of Mexico, not my first choice but the ocean sounds nice now that summer was on its way.

In the center of our territory was a massive forest. Our territory covered a vast amount of land but a good chunk of the pack lived in the forest so we tended to keep the forest the most secure. We had it labeled as protected private property to keep the humans away. We would have problems with the occasional deer hunter in the fall, but for the most part we were left alone. It helped that a couple miles north of us was another massive forest that was a state park with camping and hiking trails.

The massive pack house sat on a lake in the middle of the forest. The lake was the perfect distance from the house and it allowed for bonfires and barbeques. It was a great asset when we had other packs visiting; and if some humans were to stray into the area it could pass as a resort.

I had been thinking lately of putting in a huge swing set with multiple slides. The amount of pups being born has been growing steadily as more wolves transfer to the pack for advanced training. A number of wolves had met their mates by the time it came to the advanced training; the mates would either come to stay with their partners or visit on the weekends.

We had a partnership with a few of the closer packs where we would send wolves to train in a specialty of their choosing. My pack, the Diamond Pack, tended to focus on warrior training. The pack to the North of us, the Topaz Pack, focused on healing and medical practices. South of us was the Quartz Pack, hosted a Research Facility, any wolf that wanted to focus on werewolves and other supernatural creatures was sent there.  West of us was the Gypsum pack, they trained in the domestic areas. Wolves that wanted to focus on childcare, cooking, or maintaining the properties headed there.

It was a beneficial system that we started when I took over as Alpha from my dad when I was 22. Alpha sons are allowed to take over the pack anytime after the age of 20. I had decided to attend the local college and earn a degree in business management. I found it helped me run the pack smoother and allowed me to oversee some business ventures outside the territory for some extra spending money to make improvements.

The latest improvement was the updating of the basement of the packhouse. We expanded the basement and remodeled it to provide a safe environment for the pups and older wolves to relax and have fun. At each end of the basement was a media room with a projector for movies. The floor was tiered down with platforms for the plush couches and easy chairs that were used instead of rows of seating. A closet in the room was stocked with blankets and pillows for those overnight marathons that seemed to occur. A room in the back held a fridge with drinks and stocked pantry with movie snacks.

There was also a massive playroom for the younger pups. There was an indoor playset built along the back wall that included a ball pit and multiple slides. It was big enough for the pups to use up energy when it starts to get colder outside.

There were two separate game rooms. One housed a couple of pool tables, foosball, hair hockey, and a couple of dart boards. The other game room doubled as a library. It contained shelves of books for all ages, board and card games, and also a movie collection. People just signed out what they were borrowing and signed it back in when done. Tables were set up along with couches and easy chairs.

Now that the basement was done I was trying to figure out where to focus next. There was more I planned on doing to the house including updates to the kitchen, office, and security center. But with it being nice out I had been thinking of building the playground for the kids and maybe an outdoor kitchen for all the barbeques that seemed to come up.
