"I'm still mad that you didn't let me know the gender." Demi says with a mug as we sit in the waiting room chairs.

"Well Dems for 1, I want you to be surprised too, and 2, you can't keep a secret to save your soul."

I was able to find out the gender of my baby at the appointment a few days ago, but neither August or I wanted to know what it was yet. I didn't want Demi to know because the simple fact that she can't keep hold water, but I wanted whoever was going to know the gender know how to execute my plan for how I want the gender reveal to look, which is why I asked Chandra to do it. Party planning is like her calling.

We're in the waiting room of the clinic right now because we were by her house and she wanted us to come to the store with her to get some last minute stuff for the reveal today. She called my doctor and was told the gender of the baby over the phone, but now she's able to get the envelope. She wasn't going to come get it but I told her the baby pictures were in there.

"Yes I can." She says after her dramatic gasp.

"You really can't."

"Whatever."

After a few more minutes of waiting, Chandra finally comes out with the envelope. She smiles when she sees us and comes over, waving it in our face. This girl here.

"Smell it cause this the closest you gonna be to it until after the reveal." She says before walking away.

"I mean we rode with you but go off." Demi playfully rolls her eyes and gets up.

"You right." She puts the envelope in her purse and clenches it tightly between her arms, not wanting us to look without permission. "Lets go."

I shake my head and follow her out of the clinic, going to the car. We all get in and I get on my phone to pass by the time. When we get to the store, we get out and go in.

"Wait why we in here again?" I ask.

"Because I need more cups and table cloths."

"Oh okay."

"You got the cake already?"

"I told August to get it but he probably didn't."

I pull out my phone and call him on FaceTime. It rings a few times before it shows August's face across on the screen.

Man, he's so fuckin handsome.

"Hey baby."

"Wassup."

"Wait I forgot what I wanted to say."

"You just wanted to hear my voice huh?" He smirks.

"I mean that too, but oh my God I forgot just that fast."

"About the cake." Chandra laughs.

"Oh yeahhh, did you get the cake?"

"W-yeah."

"No you didn't."

"I did. Well I'm on my way there."
