"Yeah I'll be good mama." I smiled as I took my seatbelt off.

"But you're gonna be alone this time with people you don't know." She said as she parked across the street from the school.

Today I start going to public school, and to say I'm scared would be an understatement. I mean everyone would always be scared when starting a new school, but I've never been to a public hearing school before. It's a whole different environment with people I've never met or seen before. I wouldn't dare tell Demi I'm scared though because I don't want her to worry about me. I want to show her that I'm strong and can handle myself. I want to show her that this is another thing I can accomplish.

"I won't be completely alone I have Kayden, Ava, and Justyce." I said grabbing onto the necklace she got for us. "Plus I have daddy."

After the funeral, grandma decided to have daddy get cremated so that we can all have a part of him. She just let me, Justyce, Demi, Uncle J, and TT split the ashes though.

I honestly thought it would be weird to have him around my neck everyday, but I've gotten pretty used to it. Now I'm just scared about losing it or breaking it because it's beautiful and holds something significant to me. It's a gold necklace shaped like a heart with the words "Always With Me" engraved on it and another charm thing on it that hangs next to it and says "In Loving Memory". I wear it everyday, but I take it off every time I get in the shower so that I don't mess it up.

"You sure?"

"Yes ma'am."

"Okay well I'll walk y'all in then and help you get your schedule."

"Okay." I chuckled.

This is by far the happiest I've seen Demi since everything happened, so who am I to steal it from her. She just wants to be there and support her daughter on the 1st day of school. It's still unbelievable how she took me under her wing and never gave up on me. She didn't push me to the side or treat me any different than Justyce since she's her biological kid, which is one of the many things I love about her, and if she ever heard me say that Justyce was her only biological kid, she'd be heartbroken because she tells everyone I'm her oldest child.

She turned the car off and got out of the car, waking Justyce up since she fell asleep on the way here. I grabbed my book bag and threw it over my shoulder, watching a bunch of busses pull up. I wonder if Demi will make us start riding the bus since I'm with Justyce now. I hope not because that's a whole lot of kids getting off the bus. I didn't even know a bus could carry that many people. Some of them must have been laying under the seat or lapped up.

"Okay come on."

"I wanna hold Twinkie hand so she don't be scared on her first day." I heard Justyce say making me hold my hand up to my chest.

She can be a little winch sometimes, but I swear I love how caring she is towards me. It's almost as if she believes she's the older sister. I'll let her have it though.

"Thanks baby." I smiled and held my hand out for her to grab. "Come on."

She walked over to me rubbing her eyes and then grabbed my hand with one of hers. I looked both ways before crossing the street with her and Demi. Going into the huge building, I frowned at how everyone looked so dead inside. Just outside, they looked as if they were ready to come here. I just began to look around at how everything in the school look as I followed Demi to the office.
