"Good morning Rose." I finally have a babysitter for Mazey.

"Am I late?" She asked.

"No, so Mazey is still in bed." It's Saturday and I couldn't keep bringing Mazey to the hospital. "She doesn't do well with strangers as I told you before, so I'll have to wake her and introduce you both." I said closing the door and slowing climbing the stairs. Rose followed behind me quietly, we reached Mazey's room and I slowly opened her door. I went to her bedside table and flicked on the light. "Mazey." I whispered but she didn't move. Mazey. I whispered again and she moved little. "Mazey." She slowly opened her eyes.

"Is it time for school?" She asked.

"No honey bun, but I have to go." I told her.

"Okay." She was about to remove the blanket when I stopped her.

"You're staying home today?" I told her, her bottom lip quivered and her eyes watered. "Shhh, I have to go to work now but I have someone to stay with you." I moved away showing her Rose who was behind me.

"But I want to come to work with you." She cried.

"You won't have any fun." I told her.

"I can bring my toys." She sniffled.

"But you will get bored being alone with no one to play with." I said hoping she would agree to stay home.

"I would have you." She said.

"Not today Little Butterfly I will be busy the entire day and have no time for you." I said.

"But..." She trailed off.

"Rose has a daughter that's your age and she will come later on to play with you." I brushed her tangled hair.

"Does she know how to play hopscotch?" Mazey asked Rose.

"She loves it." Rose smiled, Mazey's lip twitched.

"If you miss me you can ask Rose to call me on the phone." I said.

"Okay." She finally said.

"Are you following me to my car?" I asked.

"I need my monster slippers." She said climbing out.

"Monster?" Rose asked confused.

"She has a fetish for monsters. I whispered.

Oh."

"Here they are." I took her little feet and put the slippers on.

"Roar!" She yelled. I took her hand and led her down the stairs to the door.

"Be a good girl." I said kissing her forehead.

"I will. She said.

God Im going to miss you. I hugged her, what was happening to me?

If you miss me call." Mazey used back my words.

"I will." I smiled at this little girl that was too smart for her age.

"Pinky promise?" She asked.

"I Pinky promise." I held out my Pinky and so did she and we put them together. I stood and opened my car door. "I love you, Mazey." I said to her.

"I love you too." She grinned. "Save lifes!" She yelled.

"I will." I closed the door and drove through the already opened gates. I turned on the heat in the car today was going to be a cold day. I put on the radio and let the music fill the car as I drove to work, I hummed to the tunes until I pulled into the hospital parking lot. I got out and took out my bag and hugged my jacket tighter.
