Chapter 28

I official had a baby bump but it looked more like I ate either a big lunch or breakfast. I had an ultrasound scheduled for later down in the day. I did Trish's ultrasound, Trish wanted the gender to be a surprise she didn't want me to tell her Bryan on the other wanted to know but played along. I wasn't doing a gender test today I just wanted to see if the baby was okay.

"Trish tell your fiancé to stop calling me." I told her when Bryan's name popped up on my screen. She answered the phone for me and gave him stern words and then hung up. He even had Eric asking me for the baby's gender. "Can't I just tell him? You're the only one that doesn't want to be surprised." I told her.

"No I want everybody to be surprised when the baby is born." She said and I rolled my eyes.

"I won't be surprised." I said.

"As god mother you have to listen to what I say." She folded her hands.

"Fine." I said. "Does this mean I shouldn't get you a baby shower gift?" I asked.

"You have to." She said.

"But I am going to want to give the baby something that's related to it's gender." I pressed on.

"Get something yellow." She said.

"Fine." I said.

"Good." She said and left. I went on my hourly rounds and then took a nap in my office for three nap. My phone buzzed on my desk and I picked it up.

"Hello?" I answered.

"Where are you?" He asked. I looked at the time I was running late for my appointment.

"I'm on my way." I said hanging up the phone. I scurried to Ob-Gyn Eric drumming his fingers on the nurses' station. "I'm here." I said taking deep breaths.

"What happened?" He asked.

"I fell asleep." I admitted going into one of the examination room. The doctor was already waiting on us I sat on the examination table taking off my lab coat and gave it to Eric.

"Take off your pants and underwear." She said putting a condom on the scope. I hate that thing. I gave him my pants and underwear which he put in his pocket and he folded my pants. "Lay down." She said and I did looking at the ceiling. Eric held my hand while she began probing. "Mhmm." She always did that and it scares me.

"Is there something wrong?" Eric asked nervously. She pulled out the scope and turned the screen to us but I already knew what she was going to say.

"The baby is breached." I said what she was going to explain to us.

"It could only be for now he might move around." She said. "He's healthy growing at the appropriate speed." She continued.

"So it's a boy." Eric said smiling.

"I hadn't even asked if you wanted to know the gender." She frowned.

"It okay we wanted to know." Eric said.

"I want to hear his heart beat." I said and she obliged. I listened to his heart strong and healthy. "Aww, look at our son." I said to Eric. He looked at the screen too happy for words. I counted his fingers and toes. "Look at his little penis." I pointed at the screen.

"Can we have this printed out?" Eric asked.

"Yes." She printed it out. This was his second picture. I put on my underwear and pants. "You can still have sex but you have to be careful." She warned us, Eric shook his head in understanding. We left the examination room smiling at my good new and prayed that the baby wouldn't stay breached all the while. Dr. Nelson was waiting on Eric outside flirting with the nurses.
