"Mazey-Ann I am not joking you have to put on tights under your skirt." I sighed in frustration I was supposed to drop her at school in thirty minutes and she refused to listen to me.
"But I have on undies." She whined.
"Do you want the boys to see the little butterflies on your panties?" I asked, she hesitated.
"No." She finally put her feet in the shorts.
"Now how do you want your hair?" I asked her.
"I don't know." She shrugged.
"Okay pigtails." I said and parted her hair down the middle and gave her pigtails. We were ready at last we rushed to the car I buckled her in the back. Her school bell just rang when I stopped the car I scooped her out and we ran inside to the administrative office.
"Good morning." I said to the lady at the front desk.
"Good morning, how may I help you?" She asked.
"She is new here, she going into the first grade. Mazey-Ann Gold." I told her.
"Oh, we heard about this little Miss." She smiled at Mazey who was hiding behind my leg.
"Okay, so where do I find her class?" I asked.
"Down the hall, take a left and the third door on the right." She told me and I took Mazeys hand and followed the direction the receptionist gave me.
"Mazey here is your lunch kit. Do you have everything in your backpack?" I asked.
"Yes." She said.
"Okay, I love you." I kissed her forehead.
"I love you too." I opened the door and spoke to the teacher. I waved goodbye to Mazey and I went back to my car and drove to the hospital.
"I have missed you like crazy." Trish tackled me with a hug.
"Me too." I said.
"The place has been so dull." She linked our arms.
"How so?" I asked.
"No one here understands my wicked sense of humor." She let me go when we reached the changing room.
"You poor baby. I laughed. So what has happened since I have gone?" I asked.
"Nothing interesting the hospital was rather quiet last week." She said.
"Don't let anybody hear you say that." I took off my pants and shirt, I pulled on my navy blue scrubs they felt good. Feels so good. I sighed happily.
"Dr. Heart has been inquiring about you." She said.
"I saw him the other day when I was buying supplies for Mazey." I told her.
"And?" She asked.
"And what?" I asked.
"What did you guys talk about?" She asked.
"My hatred for him. Then he had the nerve to say he thought I slept my way through med school." I told her and she held her chest in horror.
"Oh no he didn't." She said.
"I told him I wish I had some hot liquid in my hand to throw at his face." I told her.
"Thats my girl." She said.
"Told him to avoid me like the plague but he was still bothering me." I said.
"Let's plot his demise together." She said evilly.
"I don't have time for that." I said.
"How is Mazey?" Trish asked.
"She is good, a bit headstrong but good." I smiled. "Today is her first day at the new school. I was really worried about her making friends. Do you think she'll make a friend today?" I asked Trish.
