We sat outside the doors of the Justice of Peace waiting our turn Trish and Emma were our witness'. Emma and Trish said it wasn't a wedding if I wasn't in bride mode. So I had something old a bracelet Kyle got me when I was six, something new earrings, something borrowed and blue a hair tie from Emma and Trish made me put six pence in my shoe. I thought it was ridiculous but they weren't taking my no.

I tapped my white stilettos on the tile. We had been waiting an hour and I even had a bouquet of white roses that Eric had so graciously bought me.

"Gold-Heart." The officer came in.

"Your names sound so nice together." Emma said and Trish agreed.

"Shhh." I shushed them as we went in the room.

"Were vows prepared?" He asked.

"Uhm...no we didn't." Eric said.

"Okay." He did the ceremony in under fifteen minutes. "Do you have rings to exchange?" He asked.

"Yes." I smiled. Trish took the ring from her pocket. "It might not be the most beautiful but I'll get a better one I didn't have enough time." It was a white gold wedding band that I had made last night had to pay a lot just to get it this morning. I placed it on his finger and he smiled. He dug in his pocket. "You didn't have to." I said.

"It was my grandmother's. I changed the setting." It had a set of diamonds at the front and white gold covering the rest.

"I love it." I smiled.

"You may now kiss the bride." He said and without looking at them I knew they had weird facial expressions. He pulled me in close and smiled and it was a sweet swift kiss. I pulled back and I we signed the areas that were necessary and we were married.

"Yea you're married. How exciting?" Trish pulled me.

"Trish calm down." I told her.

"When can we file for adoption?" Eric asked Emma.

"Just sign the dotted lines." She said. We pressed on the roof of his car. "Congrats in a few weeks you both will become the parents a very beautiful redhead." She chirped.

"We are not redheads." I warned her.

"Your hair is red." She said.

"Auburn." Eric chipped in.

"Whatever. I'll see you guys later Mr. and Mrs. Heart." It sounded so weird. He and I drove to the hospital together. I looked at the ring at how it was simple and elegant and I loved it.

"I'll add a few more diamonds to it." He said when he caught me looking at it.

"No I love it just as it. It's like it was made for me." I said.

"I looked in your room for some jewellery but found none so I didn't really know what to do." He admitted.

"You searched my stuff?" I questioned.

"Sorry." He said. "Oh you need to buy tampons." He said and I blushed.

"You really thought you'd find jewellery in my underwear draw?" I questioned.

"You have a weird fruit fetish." He teased.

"I do not. They are just very comfortable." I told him.

"So will you be telling your family?" I asked.

"Yes after work I'll call them."

"They must think this union is weird and wrong." I sighed.

"I'll tell them you're using me for my body." He chuckled.

"You're very bad." I laughed. We neared the hospital, no one knew we were married. "Okay so at the hospital we are just co-workers." I told him. "You can pin your ring in your scrub top or put it in your coat." I said.
