Twenty Seven

Tony POV

I had a bad feeling in my stomach all morning. I cant pin point the reason. At lunch, I sat down with Nathan and Leo.

Nathan: Hey Tony, did Selena text you?

"No. Whats up?"

Nathan: I cant get her. Her phone is off. I thought maybe she wanted lunch.

"Maybe she is with Ava. Im meeting Ava here. She should be coming soon."

Ava came into the cafe alone.

"Hey babe. Where's Sel? Didnt you two have the same class?"

Ava: (looked confused) Oh. I was about to ask you the same thing. She didnt turn up for class today and she didnt answer my text or calls. I thought she is still sick.

Nathan looked worried and my bad feeling is creeping in hard.

Nathan: I have to find her.

"Lets go back to the apartment first."

We drove separately back and reached about the same time. I unlocked my apartment and called out.

"Sel! Sel! Are u here?"

I went into her room which was opened and panicked.

"Nate!"

Both Leo and him rushed into the room.

"Her stuff... Is gone..."

I looked for her suitcase and it wasnt there.

Ava: Tony! (She yelled)

We rushed out to see a crying Ava.

"Babe.. whats wrong?"

Ava: Its Sel... she.. left.. us... these..

We turned to see a bunch of letters each with our name on it.

We grabbed our individual letters and tore it open.

My letter:

Dear Tony,

I am sorry things turned out this way. I love you so much. Thank you for being there for me always. Thank you for loving me and taking care of me even though I am not your sister. I am happy to see how happy Ava made you. It is time I fend for myself for the life that Im given. I will always be thinking about you and I love you always.

Nathan took his letter after reading and bolted through the door.

Leo sunk into the couch with tears in his eyes.

Ava is crying so hard.

Why Sel? What did you do?

Nathan POV

My letter:

Baby. My Love. My Nathan.

You have made me so happy beyond words the past months we're together. From our first meeting, you tugged my heart strings and chained it to yours. I have never felt so much love as I have with you. And I feel so much of your love with me. The kisses we shared are ones which memory I will hold on dearly. The memory of your face is forever etched in my heart.

I love you Nathan. More than life itself. I am sorry things have to be this way. I am sure that with your family's love, you can do anything. I will miss you so much and I will think of you always.

Please live your life well and please dont try to look for me. Wherever I am, I will always pray for you.

I drove around all the places I thought she would be. I couldnt find her anywhere. Mike. Im sure he can trace her.

I called Mike to meet me at the villa.

When I reached the villa, I waited for Mike when something caught my eye.

A bookmark.

I picked it up recognising it to be Selena's. I gave this to her some time back because she was always missing her read pages in the book.

What is this doing here? Selena came here once that night with Ginny and she didnt have any books with her. Which means she came here recently.

What for? With who?

I connected the dots immediately.

Mike walked in and I glared at him instantly.

Mike: Sir, whats wrong?

"Mike, did my father has something to do with Selena leaving?"

Mike looked confused.

Mike: What do you mean? Selena left? Im sorry Sir, I really dont know anything. My security detail is only with you. I wouldnt know if your father's security is involved.

I was angry but I believed Mike. He was right. They had separate security detail.

"Can you look it up? Find something!"

Mike: Right away Sir.

He was typing away on his laptop searching for answers.

The front door opened and Ginny walked in.

Ginny: Nate! I heard from Ava!

She came to hug me. I can tell she is upset. Selena has grown close to her like a sister.

Ginny: Ava handed me my letter and I immediately thought you might be here.

"What did your letter say?"

She read hers.

Ginny,

You are a very mature down to earth girl whom I have the pleasure of knowing. You treated me like a sister and I really appreciate all that youve done for me. I have grown to love you a lot as a sister and Im sorry this had to end. I wish you the best and hope you and Tyler try to make it work. I love you Ginny.

I love your brother very very much and I wished things do not go like this. Please do take care of him. He will need you more now than ever. And please dont try to look for me. I will pray for your happiness always.

I stared blankly ahead. What the hell is going on?

Mike: Sir?

"Did you find her?"

Mike: I found a few things.

First, she was here 2 days back from the security footage from the gate. She was... (looking at me nervously) escorted by your father's security detail.

"What?!" I yelled angrily.

2 days back. The day she had the cat allergies. Shit! She lied about that so I wouldnt question her swolen eyes. She had been crying.

Ginny: What's next?

Mike: I cannot trace her phone, it seems that she discarded it but I manage to trace a booking made by her for a flight since she had to use her passport. Nothing else. No others. I figured she might use other alias to get by.

"Flight to where?!"

Mike: (looking at both Ginny and me)
