Twenty Six

Selena POV

-On the phone-

"Hi Mr Anderson. I have made my decision. But I have some conditions."

Gareth: Ok. Im listening.

"I will leave your son and also everything I know here without a word and without a trace. But I have 3 conditions.

First: I want you to promise me you will not go near or hurt my family and friends.

Second: I want you to give me 24 hrs to spend my last time with your son. I promise I will not tell him anything about all this.

Third: I want you to take him in willingly. Even if he doesnt want to. I want you to listen to your son. Really listen to him. Take some time to get to know him. And not purely for business. He is your son and despite your differences, he does love you a lot and Im sure you do too. He might not get the kind of love I gave him from Ashley but at least he can get it from you."

He was silent for a while before he spoke.

Gareth: Very well Ms Moralez. Its a deal.

I hung up the phone with tears running down my face. 24hrs. That is all I have.

I texted Nathan to come over as soon as he is done. I lied to him saying I wanted to get out and hopefully get better quality air for my allergies.

He texted me back with a thumbs up and a smiley face.

I texted the rest to ask them out for dinner therafter. I lied to them saying Im craving for pizza and I felt like playing some games.

They agreed to meet later in the evening.

About 2 hours later, he came over.

"You are early?"

He came over to kiss me.

Nathan: My beautiful girlfriend wants to spend time with me. I had to ditch my last class cause I miss her so much.

I chuckled.

"Come lets go. I feel like going to the beach."

We drove up the coast and sat by the beach talking and laughing.

"Do you remember the first time we met?"

Nathan: How could I not? You were clumsy. Glad I manage to catch you in time.

I laughed at the memory. Pain seared through me and the tears are threatening to flow. I held back and dismissed it.

"I love you Nathan. Im glad you caught me then and my heart now."

Nathan started to kiss me so passionately we were lying on the sand.

We made out here and there but mostly the time spent was amazing. We watched the sunset together before heading back.

"Lets go. The pizzas are calling me."

Nathan: Can we ditch them and stay here some more? I could buy you pizza after.

"No. We promised. Come on!"

He groaned. We made our way back to find the pizzas have arrived and so have the rest.

Leo: You guys are late!

"Sorry. The sunset was amazing."

Ginny: Ya. We should like take a vacation by the beach.

Ava: Ya just like the old times. But with Ginny this time.

I forced a smile and try to act normal.

They were up for planning it there and then. I contributed ideas so they do not suspect anything.

All of them were leaving except Nathan after a few rounds of Jengga. I pout at him to stay over to take care of me since I just recovered. Of course he bought it.

I made sure I hugged each one of them before they left.

I helped Tony cleaned up while Nathan was taking a shower in my room. Before he head in, I came over to hug him tightly.

Tony: Woah sis. Whats wrong?

"Nothing. Im so happy things are finally looking good."

Tony: Yup. Im happy for you.

He kissed my forehead and said goodnight before heading to his room.

I went in to find Nathan on his phone.

"Ill go grab a quick shower and join you"

I showered fast so as to not waste my time left with him.

As I climbed into bed, I inch my face to kiss him.

"I love you Nathan."

Nathan: I love you too baby. Come on. Lets sleep. We have school tomorrow.

He hugged me close to his chest and soon he was asleep.

As much as I was sleepy, I couldnt let myself sleep. I want to watch him for as long as I can. But soon after, I drifted to sleep.

When the alarm rang in the morning, I woke up to find the bed empty. My heart dropped. I didnt even get to see him one last time.

I heard my shower and realised he was in there.

I waited for him to finish and when he was dressed and came out, he gestured to me to get ready.

"No baby. My class is later at noon. I want to sleep some more before heading to school."

Nathan: Oh alright. Ill see you later then.

"Baby wait. You forgot to hug and kiss me."

Nathan smiled and pull me in for a hug. I was desperate to hold onto him and wished that time stood still. He let go and kiss me. When we broke apart, my heart shattered.

"Ill walk you out. I wanna see Tony also."

Tony was about to leave when we walked out.

Tony: Hey sis. Not going to school again?

"I am. Later. Afternoon class."

He nodded.

I came over to hug him.

He looked at me puzzled I hugged him twice.

"Ok see you guys. Have a great day!"

Nathan kissed my cheeks and left with Tony.

Bye. Take care. I love you.

I said to the closed door with tears streaming down.

I packed my essentials into a suitcase and brought some momentos with me. I got dressed and sat in the room for a few minutes taking in the last moments I have here.

I called a cab to bring me to the airport. I took out all my savings which thankfully was a lot to book myself a flight and a hotel room for a few days in search for a cheap rent and left the credit card from my parents.

I left a note on the table for each and everyone of the people I love on the dining table.

I took one last look around and left.
