Five

Both Selena and Nathan stepped away from each other and looking straight at a half raging Tony.

Tony: Nate, you are my best mate. I have told you to not try anything funny with my sister.

Selena: Tony, I love you but you gotta stop doing this. I'm 20 for goodness sake. Stop babying me!

Tony: Sel, don't start this. I need to talk to Nate here a minute. I'll take you out for lunch after.

With that he walked past us and went to and out the front door.

Nathan looked at me smiling slightly.

Nathan: Sorry. I really shouldn't have done that. It was out of line. I will see u in school.

He turned to the door and close it behind him leaving her confused.

Nathan found Tony standing by the side of his car with his arms folded.

Nathan: Look man, I really am sorry. I was out of line. I didn't mean...

Tony: I saw the way you look at her.

Nathan was taken aback by Tony's words.

Tony: (smile slightly) As far as I've known you, you have never looked at a girl the way you look at Selena. You are not one to commit to any relationships. In fact, I've never ever seen you kiss a girl before no matter how much they throw themselves at you.

Tony: Look Nate. I know you have something you're not telling us. You are as secretive about your private life as I am with mine. I don't want Selena to get hurt because of it. And I know that she will be if she is with you. I can't let that happen again.

Nathan looks at Tony.

Nathan: Again?

Tony: (softly) Yeah. But I don't want to talk about it now. Just promise me Nate. Just don't. Not with Selena.

Nathan nodded and take his leave. He said it is best he don't join for lunch.

Tony agreed.

When Tony went back upstairs, he found Selena sitting on the couch staring into space. She looks sad.

He called out to her several times before she looks up.

Tony: Sel, are u ok?

Selena: I'm fine. Where is Nathan?

Tony: He left.

Selena: Tony! Nothing happen between Nathan and I. I swear!

Tony: I know Sel. I hope nothing else happens. I really don't want you to get hurt.

Selena looked down fighting back tears. She loves Tony so much and she doesn't want to start a fight with him. Especially about someone she just met.

Tony came over to hug her and kiss her forehead.

Tony: I know it may seems unfair what I'm doing. But know this, you are my only sister and I will kill myself if I see you get hurt. Even the slightest bit. I just need you to trust me.

Selena nodded faintly. They stood up and went out for lunch and he showed her around campus for a while. Since it is a sunday, there are no one around which makes it perfect for the tour.

Upon reaching back, she took a long bath to relax before she starts school.

All this time, her mind drifts back to the almost kiss with Nathan and a tear slide down her cheek.

Selena: (thinking) Tony is the most important person to me. I really do not want to disappoint him. And I don't wan him to lose his best friend either.
