Thirty Seven

Selena POV

It has been two weeks since we got engaged. Both our parents are excited and happy for us. They started discussing wedding plans even before us. We have not yet make decisive plans and sort of like waiting for me to graduate first.

I met up with Leo for lunch near campus. He had an appointment with the management's office to discuss a potential project in campus. Leo has changed a lot. He is dating but doesnt fool around much. I hope he opens his heart when the right person comes by.

When he left for his appointment, I headed to my car which I parked at the basement carpark.

A man knocked onto me and made my keys slipped out of my grasp. As I was about to pick it up, a hand covered my nose and mouth. I tried to struggle before it all goes black.

Nathan POV

Where is she?

I tried calling her cell but it went to voicemail every single time.

I tried Leo. She did say she was meeting Leo for lunch but I cant get him either.

After a minute, Leo returned my call.

Leo: Hey Nate. Sorry I was at a meeting.

"Leo, are you still with Selena?"

Leo: No Nate, I left her 2 hours ago. I just ended my meeting here on campus.

"Did she say she was going somewhere?"

Leo: No. She was heading home when I left. What happen?

"I cant get through her cell. I tried for the past hour."

Leo: Let me check around campus.

"Ill try tracking her car."

I installed a GPS system in her car in case of emergencies. It is part of my security system.

Wait a minute. Her car is still in campus.

I didnt have a good feeling so I left office to check it out. I called Leo to meet me there.

I parked my car and met up Leo. We looked for her and her car.

"There's her car."

We approached the car and saw her bag and car keys beside the car. Keys, cell and the rest of her stuff is intact.

"Fuck!"

Leo: Nate look.

There was a note slipped behind her wipers.

We have your precious fiancè. Wait for our call. You will know it soon enough. Dont be stupid or you will receive her corpse.

"Fuck!"

I started punching the pillar before Leo pulled me back.

Leo: Calm down Nate. We need to think. Lets get back to base to track her.

I picked up the phone calling Mike and my security team.

Leo picked up Selena's stuff and we both get into my car.

We head to my operations centre which is in a secure location.

Leo has become one of my partners. He doesnt get involved in the business but he is the one I trust looking out for Selena's security outside my own team.

Leo: Im sorry Nate. You trust me to look out for Selly.

"Dont sweat it. Im going to find this son of a bitch."

At my ops centre, Mike has started to look into the CCTV footages.

Leo: Any luck?

Mike: These people are good. They tapped the footages to show it on loop. Check out the time.

It's true. The time is on loop going back after a few seconds.

Mike: However, I found something from a footage from across the entrance of the carpark. The camera is well concealed which makes it unnoticed.

He played the footage which shows a black BMW stopping near the carpark and 2 men in hoods came out while another stayed at the car.

A while later, one of the men was seen carrying Selena on his shoulders. They put her into the back seat and drove off.

"Find for me these fuckers"

Mike: Yes Sir, we are tracking the car as we speak.

Leo: I dont understand. Why didnt they enter the car park and why did they do this so openly?

Mike: We believe that they wanted to avoid having a picture snapped of the car when they entered the gantry. And this place is pretty well secluded. Most people do not enter through here as they is another entrance on the other end. They must have planned it well to not have been noticed by public.

One of my men came over to me. "Sir? There is a call for you. From a secured line and I cant trace it."

"Put it on."

"Who is this?"

A familiar voice was heard. "Hi Nathan. Miss me?"

"Ashley?!"

Ashley: Oh you still remember my voice dont you. I guess this slut is not important to you.

"You bitch! What have you done with her? I swear if you touch her, Ill kill you."

She laughed.

Ashley: Oh baby. To kill me you have to find me first. But for me, I will have much pleasure in killing her.

"YOU STAY AWAY FROM HER. I SWEAR ASHLEY. WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU WANT?"

Ashley: It is simple really. I want you to transfer your weapons business to me. That was supposed to happen when we marry but I guess you decide to choose this slut here so I had no choice but to do this.

"You are crazy! Why would I do that?"

Ashley: Tsk Tsk Tsk. So I guess you dont mind me scarring her pretty face.

"Wait dont touch her! Let me talk it out with my father."

Ashley: Dont keep me waiting.

With that the line was dead.

A message came into the system.

Mike: Sir it is a picture.

He flashed the picture showing a tied up unconscious Selena in a dark room.

Its message read:

I hate waiting. Ill give you 12 hours before I deliver her dead body to you.

"Fucking bitch!"

I kicked the chair and flipped everything that is within my reach.

Leo and Mike pulled me back.

Leo: Nate, we will find her. Calm down.

Mike: We are processing the picture and line. We will have some data soon.

I walked out to my room and slammed the door.

"I swear I will kill you Ashley Tyson."
