Tony POV

Nathan and Leo looked at me mouth gaping with shock. This would be the last thing they expected me to say.

I trust them. I dont think Im able to keep this from them. I need them to know why exactly I am so against Selena dating or why I am so overprotective of her.

"She is actually my adopted sister." I started.

"We were neighbours. We often play together, both of us. We built a treehouse together and do everything together. She was like my best friend or a sibling I never had. Dont get me wrong. I love her so much but never more than a sister. Ive always wanted a sibling of my own."

"We will always tell each other our secrets and we confide in each other on anything. Basically our opinions matter the most to us."

" When she was 10, I heard screams coming from her house. I was at the treehouse. My parents went to the store at the time. It was normal for me to be on my own."

" I was only almost 12 at the time. I ran to her house and sneak in as we normally do if we got pass curfew. I heard gunshots and I was terrified. When I try to hide, I saw her lying on the floor passed out. I panicked and tried to get to her. I dont even see her parents. "

"I then saw... saw one of the masked man coming on top of her, trying to.. to.. remove her clothing and... and his too. He was trying to... to.. rape her.. " I started choking up at the memory.

Nathan and Leo looked angry at this mention but they kept silent to let me continue.

"My instinct was to barge into him and kill him. I was SO angry. But I was also scared if he tried to kill her."

"I did the next best thing. I gave him a distraction. I found some tools where I was hiding and I threw it out and around to startle him so that he leave her. It worked. He panic and went to check out the sound. I saw no one else was there, i quickly pulled her to where I was and hid there. Both of us."

"Luckily for us, we heard the police siren and some officers barge into the house and gunshots everywhere."

"An officer found us hiding and rescued us. Brought us out and I saw my parents. Ive never been so relieved!"

"I learned that it was a robbery gone wrong and her parents were shot. And she was pushed to the ground where she hit her head and passed out."

"When she learnt of the incident, she wasnt the same. She cried a lot and rarely talks or eat. My parents decided to adopt her but nothing changes. She refuse to play with me or even talked to me. I was lost and alone but I didnt give up."

"One day, I manage to persuade her to go cycling with me. And.. and that was the worst decision I made."

"I was faster than her and she was slightly behind me. For once, I did see a smile forming on her face. I was happy. But I didnt see a car coming straight at me. She.. she.. she pushed my bike away. I fell down a small drain but she was side swiped by the car. Her head hit the road. There was blood everywhere. The car just left and I was left with her bleeding so much."

"Another car came not long after, saw us and immediately took us to the hospital. She survived the impact but her memory didnt. She could not remember anything. Not even her family or me. The doctor told us she was lucky there wasnt any blood clots or heamorrhage. But she suffered permanent amnesia. It seems that after her parents murder and the accident, her mind could not handle it."

"She was afraid of me, my parents. But she responded well when we told her that we are her family. We told her stories about us and herself. It took a while but we finally see her smiling again."

"She was no longer Selena Parker. She became Selena Moralez."

"Ever since then, I was so afraid of anything that could happen to her. When I left for college, I made sure to call her every time to check on her. I was worried if she meets someone, and they hurt her. I cannot handle that. I dont think I can handle seeing her hurt anymore. I became so overprotective of her. But she understood and respected my nature. She didnt date or didnt do anything without asking me first."

"I am selfish. But I am so scared to see her hurt again."

Thud

Leo: What was that?

We heard a loud thud and looked around. Nathan went to check out the front door.

Nathan: Selena?

I stood up and immediately went to the door.

There I saw Selena with a blank expression with tears rolling down her face sitting on the floor with her stuff scattered around.

"OMG Sel! What happen? Are u ok?"

She looked up at me slowly and I saw her eyes rolled back and she passed out on Nathan's arms, who was crouching beside her.
