Thirty Six

A year later

Selena POV

Things have been going great. The boys graduated from college and the girls are graduating soon.

Nathan is working at his father's company as the Vice Chairman of Marketing learning the ropes to take over.

Leo got a job as an architect at a big firm there while Tony got a job in R & D at a tech firm.

Nathan's parents have been welcoming and things are looking up.

They continue to spend game nights at Tony's and Selena's. Nathan spent more time there than at his place. Ginny and Tyler have started dating officially and Leo has started to open up to meet girls. He hasnt found anyone in particular but he is going on dates now.

Amazingly, they havent heard from Ashley and her father. When Gareth broke the news, Ashley's father did not take it too well and thereafter chose to take their business elsewhere and left the city.

Selena POV

I am standing in front of the mirror unable to decide what to wear. Nathan wanted to bring me out for a dinner date and told me to wear something nice and comfortable.

After what seemed like hours, I decided on a black boat neck empire waisted midi dress. I did my hair up and put on light make up. I was about to wear my red mary jane heels just as Nathan rang the door.

When I answered, Nathan stared at me eyes roaming up and down my body.

Nathan: Wow. You look stunning.

"You dont look too bad yourself babe"

He was dressed in a navy blue shirt with sleeves rolled up and black pants.

We drove out for dinner at the same place he brought me out for our first date. This asian restaurant.

While eating, Nathan was constantly checking his watch.

"Nate? Are you ok? Do you need to be somewhere?"

Nathan: Erm. No. Why do you ask?

"Because you have checked your watch 8 times since we sat down."

Nathan: Oh sorry babe. I had to submit a proposal but my assistant has not sent it to me for vetting. Im trying to see how much time I have.

"Oh I see. You want to cut the dinner short? We could go back my place and watch a movie? That way if you need to do your work it will be easier."

Nathan: Are you sure?

"Yup sure."

Nathan: You are amazing you know.

"Its nothing. I understand you are under pressure learning as much before you take over your father."

He took my hands and gestured to finish up before leaving.

After settling the check, we drove back. We were walking up to my apartment when Nathan told me he left something in the car and told me to go up first.

I opened my apartment door and immediately my jaw dropped.

There were rose petals and candles lighting up the place. I walked towards the living room where I saw a giant teddy bear in the centre of a heart made up of rose petals. It was holding a wrestling belt with some wordings. I read the words.

"Selena Marianne Moralez, will you marry me?"

Nathan: Surprise.

I turned to see Nathan on one knee holding a black velvet box with a sapphire stoned ring.

I cupped my hands over my mouth in shocked at loss of what to say.

"What? Is this for real? Whats happening?"

Nathan: No baby. This is real. This is happening.

I stood there frozen.

Nathan: From the first time I met you to the time I lost my first kiss to you and the time we first slept together, I know I cannot live without you. You are the one for me and the one I want by my side always. Selena Marianne Moralez, will you marry me?

"Oh my god. Yes! Of course Ill marry you!"

He stood up and put the ring on my finger. We started kissing passionately when someone cleared his throat causing us to pull back.

Tony: Seriously guys! Im right here!

The lights turned on and everyone was there.

Ginny: Congratulations! Im so happy! We are going to be sisters for real now!

After hugging all of them and the girls constantly checking the ring, they settled onto the couch.

"How come you guys are here? Its not even game night."

Ava: Who did you think prep all these while Mr Romantic here got you out?

"Aww seriously... that is so sweet. Im surprised you agreed to this Tony."

Ava: Well, he didnt lift a finger. We dont want him to go hulk on Nate here.

Tony: Excuse me. I was the one who gave him my blessings ok.

"Oh baby. You asked my brother for his blessings?"

Nathan: Well, I wouldnt want him to go hulk on me.

Tony threw a pillow at him and roars of laughter erupted among them.

Ava: So when are you guys planning to have the wedding?

Nathan: Well, we have not discussed anything yet. We will wait till she graduate.

Nathan spent the night there as always.

Nathan: Thank you baby.

"Hmm. What for?"

Nathan: For agreeing to marry me. I thought you might reject me thinking it is too soon.

"I am happy Nate. All I want is you by my side too. You and me against the world."

I kissed him lightly.

Nathan: I love you.

"I love you too Nathan. Always."
