Twelve

Selena POV

I wonder whether the guys are done. I'm so tired I told Ava to skip supper after the movie. That is if I go for breakfast with her and bring Tony.

I chuckled to myself thinking about this crush Ava has with Tony. She cannot stop talking about him after their breakfast date the other day.

I wonder whether this brother of mine has any idea of Ava's feelings or oblivious like always.

I start to unlock the door quietly to surprise the guys and as I open it I heard Tony saying my name.

Tony: Selena can never know about this.

I was curious. If I enter now, I will never know what they were gossiping about me.

I then eavesdrop to their conversation. My heart dropped when I heard Tony said.

"Selena is actually not my sister"

Throughout the entire conversation, I felt light headed and I didnt notice my tears running furiously.

"What? My parents? Rape? Murdered? Amnesia?" My thoughts starting to cloud my vision.

At that moment I lost all balance and dropped to the floor.

I dont remember much after that but I saw Nathan coming out of the door.

"Oh Nathan! Please hold me. I need you." The thoughts were running in my head.

All I remember after is that everything went black.

Tony: "Sel! Selena!"

Nathan swiftly carried her bridal style and walked into the apartment to put her on her bed.

Tony sat beside her and tried to wake her up to no response. Her pulse is normal and she is breathing. He started to yell at her to wake up when Leo and Nathan pulled him back.

Leo: Let her rest Tony.

Nathan: Yeah man. I think she might be in shock.

Tony looked at Nathan confused.

Nathan: (looking to Selena) I think she overheard our conversation. When I went to check the door, it was already open and there I found her slump down on the floor.

Tony wrap his palms onto his face.

Tony: Oh no. What have I done?

Leo: Bro, I think we should let her rest tonight. You can speak to her tomorrow.  We will stay with you tonight. Now let her rest. You go get some rest too. 

Tony: No. I dont want to leave her. Ill stay by her side.

Leo: But...

Before Leo could rebutt, Nathan hold his shoulder and gave him the "let him be". They left him and settled on the couch.

Selena awaken with a throbbing headache. She looked around seeing that she is on her bed with the clothes she had from yesterday. She saw that Tony is sitting by her bed still asleep.

As her memory came back to her, she remembered what Tony said and she started crying.

Tony woke up to Selena's crying and saw her head wrapped between her knees. He went over to comfort her and she looked up and hug him tightly.

Both of them continue crying in each others embrace. When they simmer down, Selena spoke softly.

Selena: You should have told me Tony. Everything.

Tony: Im sorry Sel. I really am. I dont plan for you to know about all this. I want to protect you from all the hurt. Im so sorry.

Selena: (sighing) I understand why you did it. Im sad that despite knowing all of this, I still cannot remember anything. All I know and remember clearly is having mum and dad and also you by my side all this time.

Tony: We want you to have only happy memories and we spend the years to build those memories for you. We all love you very much even though you are not my real sister.

Selena: I really appreciate all that your family has done and sacrificed for me. No amount of Thank You is enough. Mum and dad has never once treat me any differently..  like their own daughter.

Tony: You are their daughter. Not born to them but definitely their daughter. Just like you are my sister. Forever more. You are stuck with this annoying brother of yours.

Selena: (gave a small smile) Thank you Tony. I love you too so much. You are there for me all this while and you are the most important person in my life.

Tony kiss her forehead and continue hugging her until she asked to be left alone for a while.

Selena POV

It is like a made up story. All of this. I feel that it is true but I cannot remember any of it. Im happy with my life now with Tony and his parents. They have raised me and made me who I am.

And I love them so much.

I picked up the phone to call my adopted parents. I really miss them.

Henry: Hi honey! Whats up? Isnt it too early for you for a saturday morning. (He chuckled on the phone. He knows that I will sleep till almost noon)

Selena: Hi daddy. I miss u so much. 

Henry: What's wrong honey? You dont sound ok. Are u sick?

Selena: No Im fine. I just called to tell you I miss you and thank you for all that you have done for me.

Henry: Oh honey. We miss you too. Are u guys alright? Is Tony taking good care of you? If not, Ill whip his ass. He should be taking care of my babygirl.

Selena laugh slightly.

They spoke a while more then say their goodbyes.

After hanging up the phone, she decided to not think about her past and look forward to her life. Yes, she is not giving up knowing about her past but she will do it slowly and at her own pace.

Now, she is content and she will give herself some time to get use to this new information about her past.
