Thirty Nine

Nathan POV

The doctor came out.

"Doc, how is she? Can I see her?"

Doctor: She is stable for now. She lost quite a bit of blood but we are doing a transfusion now. She seems to have taken quite a beating cause we found some of her ribs broken. She needs to rest but we will monitor her closely. Yes you may but not all at once.

"Thanks Doctor."

Leo had stayed with me all this while. We didnt want to inform and worry the rest.

Leo: Go ahead buddy. Ill inform the rest.

I nodded and went into the room. I saw the transfusion on her right arm. She looked so fragile. I sat beside her and held her hand.

"Hi baby. Im here."

Selena POV

I opened my eyes slightly.

Where am I? I hear beeping and it smells different.

I opened my eyes further and saw that I am in a hospital room. Nathan is sleeping next to me.

"Nathan?" I whispered and moved my hand slightly.

He woke up startled.

Nathan: Sel baby? Are you ok? Oh god baby are you hurt?

"Im fine." I croaked.

My body was sore and it hurts moving.

Nathan: Dont move baby. The doc says you have to rest. Let me call them to check on you.

He went out and came back in with a doctor and nurse.

Doctor: Good to see you Ms Moralez. How are you?

He checked on me to ensure everything was fine and left after telling me to rest more.

Nathan: Im sorry baby. I should have gotten to you sooner.

"Its not your fault. Thank you for rescuing me."

He kissed my forehead and told me to rest. The pain medications seems to be kicking in and I dozed off soon after.

-One week later-

After one week, the doctor discharged me. Nathan picked me up. He has been in the hospital every day and only goes back to shower and change. If he isnt here, Leo or Tony would take over. They dont allow me to be alone.

In the car, Nathan held one of my hands while driving.

"You know baby. Im fine really. I know you are worried but I think I can do some things on my own."

Nathan: Not for a while. I almost lost you Sel. I have never been more scared than I was that day.

"Ashley is dead Nate. Everything will be fine."

Nathan: Im not taking any chances. I love you and you are kinda stuck with me girl.

I chuckled. I do love this man and yes I have to admit I was scared.

Upon reaching home, everyone was there throwing me a welcome back party.

I did meet all of them in the hospital when they visited me. It was nice to see everyone there. Even Mike and Tyler.

Nathan cleared his throat to say something.

Nathan: Hi everyone. Thanks for being here welcoming my wonderful fiancè back home. Last week my world was turned upside down the moment I saw the note on her car. I have never felt more scared in my entire life. So now I have an important question to ask her.

He took out a single rose and came to me.

Nathan: Selena. I love you and I want to spend all my time with you. Will you move in with me so I can always be there to protect you?

"I would love to Nate."

He kissed me and a cheer erupted from the rest.

Nathan: Thank you baby.
