Chapter 26 - Evie

"Ok, ready?" Scarlett asks as we hide behind a tree

"Are you sure this will work?" I ask and she laughs

"Definitely, I didn't survive alone on the road for a year without it working." She smirks as she takes off her property vest and hands it to me. She unzips her leather jacket and makes sure her cleavage is on display

"Excuse me handsome." Scarlett says seductively as she sways her hips walking towards the man

"Could you help me out?" She asks standing in front of the man twirling her hair in her fingers, surely he won't fall for it that easily

"What can I do for you?" He asks as his eyes travel her body

"I'm not from around here and I'm totally lost, you think you could give me a ride back to my motel?" She asks

"What happened to your arm?" He asks pointing to the blood tricking down her leather jacket sleeve

"You know, I'm so damn clumsy I fell over, I guess I just need a big guy to take care of me." She smiles innocently

"Yeah I don't know." He says looking around, I knew this wouldn't work

"I'll make it worth your while, I hate being alone in a big bed by myself." She pouts as she steps closer to him and places her hand on his chest as she looks up into his eyes

"Ok, umm, yeah sure." He says looking around as he opens the passenger door for her

"Now!" Scarlett shouts and I charge from my position behind the tree to the car as she knocks him right on his ass.

"Oh that was too much fun." Scarlett howls as we peel out of the parking lot

"I can't believe he fell for it." I say as I look behind us to see him still on the floor

"Oh please, men are like dead fish in a barrel, just flash 'em the goods and they're putty in your hands." Scarlett says as we head out of town. Scarlett takes the back roads as we finally begin heading for the clubhouse.

"All we gotta do now is make it back to the clubhouse undetected. I bet $100 the guys are still out there looking for us, but we'll just have to call them when we get back." Scarlett says as she constantly looks around checking for danger

"I lost my flashlight." I gasp as I check the pocket it was in, I've never been without it. Dr Ashton gave it to me to settle my fear of the dark, I don't know why it settles me to have it, but being in the woods in the dark with four strangers trying to kill me made me terrified of the dark. Dr Ashton said as long as I have that I'll never be in the dark.

"As soon as we get back I will find you a new flashlight, I promise." Scarlett says.

"Hey listen to me." She says as she takes my hand

"I know you're terrified right now but you are doing good, we'll be home in 20 minutes and you'll be safe, you're good." She assures me as I try to calm my breathing. We continue driving for ten minutes until I hear the rumble of motorcycles

"It's ok, it's probably a search party looking for us." Scarlett says but I can see the doubt on her face. The motorcycles ride towards us and pray she's right but as they get closer it's obvious they aren't from our club.

"Oh shit, duck down." Scarlett says as we sink down in our seats. They fly passed us and we both hold our breath as we look in the mirror and watch the six motorcycles slide to a stop and turn around following us.

"Ok here's what's going to happen." Scarlett says as we turn off the road

"There's a warehouse just up here on the left, I checked it out when I was looking for a place for my club. I'm going to drive inside, you're going to run from the car and hide behind a stack of crates in the back corner, I will take these guys out and then we'll be home. Promise me you'll stay hidden no matter what happens to me Evie." Scarlett says as she turns left towards the warehouse

"Promise me!" She shouts

"I promise." I say quietly, she's going to get hurt to protect me isn't she? This is all my fault, if I hadn't gone to see Dr Ashton we would all still be safe inside the clubhouse

"Go!" Scarlett shouts as the car screeches to a stop and I run to exactly where she told me. She climbs out of the car and leans against the trunk. Seconds later three motorcycles pull up in front of the car and three behind, she's surrounded

"Howdy boys, what can I do for y'all?" She asks in her flirty voice as she sticks her hip out and rests a hand on it

"Where's your friend?" The man in the middle in front of Scarlett asks as he looks around the warehouse, but he can't see me from here

"Who? It's just little old me big guy" she flirts, twirling her hair in her fingers and letting her gaze travel the length of his body

"What's your name handsome?" She asks

"Snake, I'm VP of the Devils and your club has been causing trouble for us." He growls

"Well gee, I'm sorry about that but you know what boys are like." She shrugs

"Its all good babe, maybe if I just take you with me I won't be worrying about my troubles." He says rubbing his hands together as he checks her out

"Sounds good, but I'm afraid I'm more into pussy. Maybe you got a girl to keep me entertained? I could take her, right on the bar, I'll show you tricks to have your girls screaming for days, just picture it now." She says with a few visuals that have me turning red, that girl is amazing, she's got six guys threatening her and she's distracting them with girl on girl action

"Maybe I'll get her spread on the bar and I'll just bend like this." She says as she bends over, giving Snake a view of her ass in her leather pants and running her hands down her leather clad thighs. What the hell is she doing?

Then in a blink she pulls two blades from her boots and throws them at two of the men. The blades hit them in the chests perfectly and they groan as they go down. At the same time she pulls her gun and shoots two of the men behind her. But before she can reach Snake and the only other remaining man they're on her. Snake grips her by the hair as the other man slams his fist into her stomach, she groans as she curls in on herself and drops to her knees.

Tears stream down my face at the image in front of me. Scarlett on her knees surrounded by the two men, it's all too familiar. I was alone in the dark woods with no one to save me, but Scarlett is not alone, I'm here and I have to do something. I reach for the gun she gave me as I come up with my plan.
