"Jimin..."

He couldn't peel his eyes off the screen. He was staring blankly at it as his whole body started to shake.

"No," he whispered under his breath. "No... I can't let this happen... I won't let this happen!"

I held his hand. "Jimin..."

"You're dying tomorrow! This can't be true!"

I froze. "T-Tomorrow?"

I'm going to die?

He put his phone back in his pocket and held my arms, making me look at him. "I'm not letting that happen, Lyn. This isn't supposed to happen... You won't die."

My eyes were fixed on his face, but I couldn't see him. All his words were flowing past my ears, not making their way to my dazed brain.

How will I die?

"You shouldn't know that. Some things are better left in the dark."

I gulped before nodding slowly.

Just then, my eyebrows crashed together when I remembered something.

"But, Jimin... you shouldn't get involved with humans' deaths... You'll be-"

"I don't give a damn about that," he snapped, raising his voice, causing me to flinch. "The only thing I'm concerned about is keeping you safe!"

He sighed after seeing my frightened expression and pinched the bridge of his nose. "I'm sorry... I'm just angry at myself for causing this... I'm really sorry, Lyn."

Pushing away the unsettling heaviness in the pit of my stomach, I pulled him into a hug, brushing his fluffy hair. "It's okay... It's not only your fault, Jimin. I actually don't blame you for this."

"But you should," he mumbled into my shirt.

"Okay then, it's all your fault."

He scoffed, chuckling lightly. "You're weird..."

"And what about it?" I frowned, offended.

He pulled back and shook his head, smiling weakly. "Nothing... I'll take you home."

A small sigh escaped my lips as I nodded before standing up. The dark, still atmosphere was sinking the thought of imminent death further into my head, spreading cold and unnerving sensations throughout my body.

My eyes trailed down to the ice cream in my hand, contemplating whether or not I should eat it since my appetite was long gone.

My ringtone halted the thought and I took my phone out to answer the call after taking a deep breath.

"Hey, Rena," I sang, trying to sound as normal as possible, as if my voice wasn't trembling. "What's up?"

"Hey. Just wanted to spend some time together. Sleepover at my dorm room tonight?"

I snorted. "Dorm room? Where will I even sleep, you idiot?"

"We'll sleep hugging each other on my bed of course, you baboon," she piped, making me roll my eyes. "So come here fast before it's too dark. Oh and bring some snacks or I'm not letting you in."

"But you're the one asking me to come though?"

"Mmhmm," she drawled before ending the call.

"This girl," I mumbled while smiling at my phone.

"Girls' night, huh?" I looked up to see Jimin smiling softly. "I'll take you there."
