With a loud groan, I stirred and lifted myself up from the car seat. My head was pounding and stinging so badly, I couldn't snap out of the daze I was in to focus on what was before me.After rubbing my forehead, I flinched when I felt something wet. I knew what it was.
Blood.
I slowly opened my eyes and looked to the front.
With a shuddering gasp, I covered my mouth when I saw my parents laying against their seats unconscious, bleeding heavily, and the car deformed, the windows broken with glass shards spread out everywhere, some spots of blood could be seen on the front.
With shaky hands, I searched for my phone to call an ambulance but it was broken.
Wheezing uncontrollably, I searched the area to find help, but like before, nobody was around.
The rain was still pouring harshly, emanating that deafening sound, pushing my sanity over the edge.
My chest contracted as my vision started blurring because of my pants and wheezes. I coughed and coughed, trying to get out the lump in my throat, but it was getting worse every second.
My sobs were coming out short and breathless.
Please god... Please save them, please!
I will do anything, please...
This can't happen!
Don't do this to me, please!
I couldn't breathe properly.
I clutched my chest, wanting to tear my heart out. Pain was all I felt.
My breathing stopped when I heard someone calling my name.
"Lyn!"
I gasped when I saw Jimin standing outside with a shocked expression.
"Jimin," I gasped out, reaching for his hands.
"Oh my god, Lyn! I told you to postpone this trip, why didn't you listen to me?!" He looked agitated even though his voice was taut and angry. "Why didn't you tell me?!"
My sobbing got out of hand. "I-I'm sorry, Jimin."
"Let's get you out of here," he spluttered and opened the door but I quickly stopped him before he could pull me out of the car.
"My parents! Please get my parents out first!"
He paused with his eyes fixed on me.
"Jimin?"
He looked down, biting his lips.
"Ji-"
"I can't," he blurted out.
My heart started pounding harshly against my chest. I could feel cold sweat running down my spine. I truly hoped what I was thinking wasn't what he meant.
"Why?"
He took a deep breath.
"Your parents... They're meant to pas-"
"No," I screamed, covering my ears and shaking my head. "No no no no!"
"Lyn," he whispered, his hand reaching up to my face to hold it. "Lyn, please."
"No," I whimpered, my tears streaming out like a river. "I can't accept that! I can't..."
Jimin sat down beside me before wrapping his arms around me and pulling me into his chest. "I'm sorry, Lyn."
I shook my head before pulling myself out of his embrace to look at him through blurry eyes.
"Please save them, Jimin. They can still make it out if we call an ambulance, right? Please," I begged him, clutching his hands.
I was close to becoming insane.
He looked pained. "They won't make it. The nearest hospital is miles away."
"But you can teleport them," I said, searching his eyes. "Please."
He bit his lips. "I already received an order to ferry their souls. I can't disobey."
My breathing started becoming irregular again. All the weird, suffocating sensations came back and I clutched my aching chest.
"Lyn?"
His words seemed muffled and distant. My head started spinning and my vision started blurring again. I began wheezing uncontrollably as I couldn't take a breath.
I was having a panic attack.
Jimin was trying to snap me out of it, but I couldn't even lift my head up to look at him.
I felt like dying.
I felt helpless.
Suddenly, his warmth disappeared. I gasped before searching for him but he was nowhere to be found.
Jimin!
When I looked to the front of the car, my parents were gone.
He took them?!
I became lightheaded. Numb. Unable to feel anything anymore.
Then...
I lost my consciousness again.
