Opening Act

Third person's POV

Even though they have their backs towards each other, they look at each other at the corner of their eyes. Kiyan heard a muffled sound of a flame being summoned and knew that Janus is about to blast him with fire while Janus is thinking What is he going to do?

The crowd fell silent with tension, Stein made a one-sided smile Things will erupt once either of them makes a move.

Janus listened intently and Kiyan finally turned on him!

Janus could clearly hear the ground scrunch because of Kiyan's feet, he also turned towards him and is about to throw the fireballs towards Kiyan when he's shocked to see him throw one of his greatswords towards him!

What?! Janus left sword got enveloped in flames and swung it full force towards the greatsword! He gritted his teeth as his sword came in contact with the greatsword and parried it away but Janus lost grip on his sword as well due to the impact, he immediately swung his right sword and the balls of flame traveled towards Kiyan.

Kiyan immediately used the broadside of his weapon and blocked the fireballs, the flames exploding upon contact! Kiyan got pushed back a little but unscathed.

The crowd went wild with yells as they witnessed the fast opening duel between them! The judges blinked then Liliana asked What happened? It happened too fast that my eyes didn't follow immediately. Alexander replied I think I saw Kiyan throw one of his weapons towards Janus then Janus parried it away and threw fireballs towards Kiyan but Kiyan managed to block it.

Kiyan thought That was close, his attack sure is powerful. Meanwhile, Janus thought That throw has too much force on it! If it hit me, I could be thrown to the wall! He looks at Kiyan If my strength doesn't match his, I might as well try speed!

Janus bent his legs a little and dashed to the left, Kiyan followed after him then they collided with each other with a single strike of their weapons and passing each other! They skidded to a halt then faced each other and made a wild sword clash, Janus gritted his teeth as he blocked Kiyan's swing to prevent him from hitting his right waist and made a step back for Kiyan's swings are too aggressive.

As Kiyan swung his sword horizontally, Janus stepped back a little and the tip of Kiyan's sword grazed the wooden breastplate. Janus quickly leaped forward and made a stabbing motion! Kiyan got caught off guard and dodged to the left, as Janus harmlessly passed him, Kiyan saw him smile.

As Janus got on his feet, he made a fireball then turned his body and threw it towards Kiyan! Kiyan quickly blocked it again with his sword and the ball exploded upon contact. While the smoke still cut Kiyan's vision, Janus rushed in and stomped Kiyan cleanly on the abdomen! Kiyan got pushed back by force but is still on his feet; when the smoke cleared, he's saw Janus leap towards him and squarely kicked him on his left temple!
