Prior to an appointment with a gynecologist, many of us feel uncomfortable and nervous. Quite often, women resort to douching to eliminate unpleasant vaginal odor, but this is not a good idea.
Douching washes out natural vaginal flora, distorts smear test parameters and increases the risk of inflammation.
Gynecologists believe that having a slight vaginal odor is absolutely normal, and you shouldn't try to get rid of it completely.
Simply wash the vagina with warm water, and it will do just fine.
**speaking from experience here;
You can get your vagina too clean. You can douche too much or too often and get your vagina too clean which somehow results in you giving yourself a horribly horrible yeast infection.
I once douched twice in one day and it ended up giving me an infection. I was only douching after my period just to clean it out, it was my first time douching and I thought I needed to do it until all the blood was out of me. But I ended up getting an infection and it got so bad that I was getting physically sick because the pain and itchiness was so extreme, I had these chemical burns on the outside and inside of my vagina, it was an awful time. So please, do not douche too much. You will regret it.
