Many women cannot figure out if spotting in the last days of menstruation is part of their periods or if only the bleeding counts. Here is what to look for:

When your period is ending, bleeding gradually decreases. It is normal to have 1-2 days of spotting after 3-5 days of bleeding.

If waking up, you notice less discharge, menstruation has begun to decline. The period is considered complete if discharge no longer contains blood.
