I don't know why I did, but I agreed.
"Fine, But don't annoy me" I warn him and he puts his hands up in surrender.
"I'm Liam Baxter, nice to meet you. And you are?" He asks me stretching out his hand for me to take. I can't help the laugh that escapes my mouth because of his stupidity. But once i had realised this, i composed myself and put on a straight face. I take his hand and shake it as his hold tightens.
"Blythe Slater. Nice to make your acquaintance." I tell him retracting my hand from his.
"Hmm, Blythe. Want to tell me about your name?" He asks me leaning forward.
"It's an old Scottish name. My paternal grandparent and father are Scottish."
"Oh, so you come from a Scottish heritage?" I nod my head. "Cool" He replies back.
"What about you?" He smirks and opens his mouth to reply.
"What about me?" I roll my eyes.
"When did you start Grove Academy and what's your heritage?" I ask him as he leans over to take a piece of my chicken. I wasn't going to eat that anyways.
"Well, I came here two years ago and both my parent were born here. I'm full British nothing more nor nothing less" I nod my head at this new information however only one stood out. He started two years ago, about the time I left.
"So, how come you left two years ago, why're you back?" My eyes flit up to his as he asks the question regarding the topic I was just thinking about. Is he a mind reader?
"Umm, I-I left to clear my head. Just for a bit" I tell him. It's partly true and partly a lie. He nods and he drops the conversation, luckily. I sigh in relief until I see him smirking.
"I'll find out soon love, don't you worry" he tells me. I smirk back and shake my head.
"You'll be old and frail by the time you do. Trust me, weird boy"
"Yeah, I do" I look at him confused.
"You do what?"
"Trust you"
"You do?" I ask him slightly shocked.
"Yup" He says popping the 'p'. "That is what i had said, right?"
"Why?" I lean on my elbows on the table intrigued to know.
"Because you haven't given me a reason not to" He justifies while shrugging.
"You just met me" I inform him.
"Yeah, well I do" I sigh and lean back in my seat. I fold my arms over my chest examining him "You could always take a picture" he tells me smirking. I lean forward again.
"Why?" I ask him and he raises and eyebrow.
"Why what?" He crosses his arms on the table.
"Why are you talking to me?" I ask him like it's the most normal thing to ask.
"Cause I want to be your friend. Is that a crime?" I sigh and lean back against the chair once again.
"Yes, if you're befriending me" I cryptically reply.
"What's that supposed to mean?" He asks me looking interested.
"I carry a lot of baggage is all I'm saying. Very bad baggage" I tell him lowly.
"Yeah, well don't we all?" He mumbles but I catch it. I decide not to ask him about it. Just as the bell goes I stand up and grab my bag.
"Take a piece of advise, you'd be better off without me in your life in any way shape or form" I tell him before walking away and out of the cafeteria towards my last lesson, English Lit.
