Just as I reach the landing, the doorbell rings. I open it and see Reagan and Liam both standing there with huge smiles on their faces. However for me, I had a deep angry look plastered to mine. Here's how last night went.
Last night
"No, absolutely not. You are not going to meet your mother" dad puts his glasses back on and begins to complete his sudoku. I sit there, shocked.
"And why not?" I ask him suddenly angry. He sighs and lowers his glasses.
"Because i said so Blythe."
"Well, no" I stand up and fold my arms over my chest. He raises his eyebrows.
"Are you defying me?"
"Yes" I simply answer back. "I'm going to meet her. It's the least you owe me" I reply smartly.
"Listen Blythe, I don't know where this idea came into your head, you never wanted to meet her. So for that, I won't allow you to"
"That's not fair. I have a right. She's my mother"
"Well she didn't act like one!" He yells and I gasp. He's never shouted at me this bad.
"What did she do dad?" I ask him and he shakes his head.
"We will speak no more of this Blythe. Now, run along"
"I'm not a little kid, stop treating me like one!"
"Well you're acting like a child!" Fury is evident on his face yet I still protest.
"Why is it so hard for you to understand that I want to meet my mother?"
"Understanding isn't the problem Blythe. I fully understand the need to meet her."
"So what's the problem?"
"The problem is that I don't want you meeting that woman"
"That woman is my mother"
"Not anymore she's not. I have full custody Blythe. I'll decide when and where you meet her. Understood"
"No, not understood!" I jolt at the loud bang caused by the slamming of his hand on the table.
"Damn it Blythe just go upstairs! You will not meet her at all! DO. YOU. UNDERSTAND. ME!" His face was beet red. His hands were shaking. His jaw was clenched and his eyes... his eyes held such anger in them I was afraid. Afraid to even breath let alone speak. My eyes sting with tears as they fall silently down my cheek. I nod my head fast and then wipe my eyes.
"Loud and clear" I say in a calmer voice and run up the stairs.
"Lythey!" he shouts for me but the ricocheting of the slam from my door drowns his voice. I collapse to the floor and breakdown when I realised one thing.
I'm never going to meet the woman who birthed me.
Present day
"Heeyyy" Reagan hugs me but, I find myself not hugging back. She pulls away and I fake smile. "You okay?" I nod my head and she waltz past me to, my guess is, Leith. I look back and see her hugging him and then they kiss. I face forward and see Liam's narrowed eyes zoned on me.
"What's up?" He asks me as he steps through the threshold. He hugs me and kisses my cheek. I pull back and shake my head.
"I'm-I'm fine, really. Don't stress" I tell him and bite my bottom lip.
"Well, I have to stress if I sense that my girlfriend is giving off a weird vibe that tells me something is wrong" he smirks and kisses me properly this time. I pull away.
