It's lunch now and I have one lesson left, thank the lord above. I don't know how long I can hack another minute in this damn school. I grab an empty tray and walk along the lunch canteen. Smiling and greeting the cooks who had smiled and greeted back. I put a piece of chicken as well as a small container of salad on my tray and grab a bottle of water. I make my way to the till to pay and then head to an empty lunch table, well more like my old lunch table. That's where I used to sit, by myself. And now, that's what I'm doing, by myself, at least that's what I thought I was going to do. I see the same guy from this morning sat at the table like he's waiting for my arrival. I reach my table and slam my tray down causing the chatter to stop. He looks up at me unaffected by the sudden sound.
"Get. Off. Of. My. Table. Right. Now" I tell him, saying the words dangerously slow. Everyone knows not to sit on my table as well as causing a riff raff with me. All he does is smirk. The idiot has the guts to smirk. He folds his arms over his chest and places his leg over his knee allowing his ankle to balance there. I slam my hands on the table causing many people to flinch and gasp. But he seems to sit there unfazed. Not even a blink or a flinch. Nothing. "Now!" I order him. This only makes him smirk wider.
"I came here first love" my blood boils at the name.
"It's Blythe, not love. Now get off of my table" I tell him once again. He perks one eyebrow up.
"Blythe? That's a weird name" he informs me. Like I haven't heard that before. I roll my eyes and lean on one leg folding my arms.
"Weird boy, now off" I say getting more agitated.
"It's Liam, not weird boy. And no. You could always join me like a normal human" I laugh sardonically.
"Yeah well sadly for you, I'm not a normal human" I bite back.
"Oh? Well, neither am I." He smirks at me and I glare hard at him.
"You don't know who you're messing with" I tell him in a low voice.
"Should I?" He asks seeming oblivious.
"Course you wouldn't. Seeing that you're new and all" I say getting more annoyed. That's when she comes up. Ariana Malfoy, gosh, she really is like Malfoy from Harry Potter. The Malfoy of our school.
"Come come Liam. Leave the freak alone." Her annoyingly high pitched voice calls out. I roll my eyes at the name.
"But, I thought you wanted me to-"
"Now Liam. We'll talk later" she interrupts him and to be frank, I'm doing a happy dance inside. He gets up and leaves following Ariana out of the cafeteria. I sigh and sit down on my seat. The conversation begins to pick up again as everyone goes into their own business. I take out my phone and start playing 8 ball pool while eating my salad.

Ariana and I walk out of the cafeteria with her hand tightly gripping my wrist. We stop in the empty hallway and she turns to face me.
"What was that?" She gestures back to the cafeteria. I shrug.
"You said to get close to her" I justify what she had said earlier.
"Yes, by not making her hate you. Now that she does thanks to you" she says rolling her eyes looking anywhere but at me.
"Well, what am I supposed to do then?" i ask seeing rather bored with this situation.
"Be friends with her. Get close to her so that she trusts you" I sigh and run my hand through my hair.
"And what if i don't want to do that. What if I just want to go by my life not knowing who she is, what then?" I tell her.
"You really want to see? You really want to mess with me? Test the waters and you'll find out" this gets me riled up. No one and I mean no one threatens me whether they're empty threats or not. A threat is a threat and I don't take it lightly. I step dangerously closer to her as she moves back. I see the fear plain in her eyes when mine darkens and my features become colder. I roughly but gently push her back again the wall making sure not to hurt her. She flinches and lets out a small yelp. I lean my forehead against her's putting pressure, enough to make it red and cage her between my arms.
"You do not ever, ever! Threaten me like that again. You do that, and we'll see what happens. Do you hear me?" I tell her sounding much more scarier than intended to. She vigorously nods her head and I step back. "Good" is the last thing I say before walking away.
"What about what I asked?" I hear her shaking voice through the hallway as it echoes. I turn around while walking backwards.
"I'll think about it. But for now, leave me the hell alone" I tell her and then carry on walking back to the cafeteria. Want to know why I put up with her? It's because she's my neighbour. Her mum and mine are like the best of friends on earth. I, have to keep an eye out for her apparently. Make sure she's okay, and doesn't get hurt or anything like that. The reason why is because, well... Ariana had been raped about 3 years ago. She, she trusted one of her teachers and he took advantage of that. She told him all about her family problems and all her life issues and he groomed her and used her for his benefit. He's in Jail now thank goodness and ever since then I had kept an eye on her but it was hard, seeing that i went to a different school to her. So two years ago, I had transferred to Grove Academy, forced by my mother and here I am. Hanging around her as if I'm her Knight in shining armour. I can't be her savour all the damn time. I can't protect her for her whole life. I need to live mine.
As I walk in, for some reason my eyes tries to find a mop of red hair and electric blue eyes. I look back at the table and see her on her phone, hardly eating her food. I smile and strut over to her table and take a seat opposite her. Her head snaps up and she gives me a confused look.
"Let's start again, please?"
