chapter 9

"what's going on on this table here? This is a class Mr jones and Ms lodge. Pay attention!" The teacher said interrupting their conversation.

"Yes sir" both replied instantly. As they looked at each other, they shared a smile.
They both were so engrossed and involved in their discussion on 1984, that they barely even notice the teacher entering.

Jughead was now realising why betty and Archie love Veronica, and loved to spend time with her. She was fun and has different layers to her. She can be bossy and manipulative, and at the same time be gentle and nice, she can be shallow and petty but at the same be a geek and intelligent. Veronica is wise, witty, stubborn and argumentative just like he was. Maybe that's one the reason they clashed before.

" Why are you smiling out of nowhere?" Veronica questioned when she glanced ta him

"Just thinking." He said shaking his head

"Like what?" She asked smiling

"Like how similar yet how different we both are" he replied

She stared at him for a moment. And then smiled" alot more similarity than you know" she said  smirking

"Huh? There's more? Care to enlighten me?"

She knew she was being cryptic, but she didn't want to tell him.
"Oh just things, you'll know one day"

She knew out if all people he would understand. Not wanting to live with your parent, but she couldn't get herself to open up to him. She didn't like to feel vulnerable.

"You two! Out of the class now. I won't tolerate this behaviour in my class"

"Sorry-" Veronica was cut off by her teacher when he just waved her off and showed her the door

Veronica and Jughead left the class and headed to the student lounge to meet up with betty and Archie. They would be early of course, considering they just got kicked out of class, but to their surprise.....and shock they saw archie and betty together, sitting on the couch,so close to each other, it felt like something was happening between the two of them.

"Whats going on here?" Jughead questioned betty and Archie.

Hearing Jughead they both sprung away from each other, making them look more guilty than ever.

"Okay guys? Whats happening? Veronica sternly asked

Betty stuttered " no.. nothing V, we were just discussing"

"Discussing what?" Jughead questioned

"Uh...uh.... My literature grade,i got a B guys!" Archie said

Jughead and Veronica knew they were lying, but they let it drop. For now.
They sat on different couches, when Veronica exclaimed "archie, you must have worked very hard to get the B"

"Yeah, it was all because of betty" he said as he softly looks at betty who just smiled.

Jughead and Veronica felt uncomfortable, as they shifted in their seats Veronica didn't like the way Archie just looked at Betty. She didn't like that her boyfriend was looking at another girl at all.

"Oh and Jughead, i almost forgot, right after school at pops?" She tried to change the subject

Jughead nodded relieved for the topic change " yeah, okay. If you want you can ride with me"

"Okay, thanks i will"she smiled at him

"Wait, what? Whats going on guys?" Archie looked confused.
"Oh nothing i agreed to tutor Jughead in Calculus and chemistry"  Veronica coolly said. To be honest she was trying to make Archie jealous, but it wasn't working when she noticed Archie smiling.

"Thats great! Veronica is very intelligent jug, you will learn everything in no time" he said smiling.

Jughead nodded. "Okay guys gotta go. Heading to the b and g"
As he was about to leave he turned around and looked at Veronica "you coming?"

"Yeah, i am" Veronica said getting up.

"Why are you going to the b and g?" Archie questioned

"Oh i forgot to tell you! Im joining b and g as a writer!" She said smiling

Archie nodded still confused. Since when did she write? He thought. "Good luck" he said as he watched her go.

"Since when did Veronica write?" Archie asked betty

"Apparently,she has always lobed writing, she just never told anyone, until she let it slip to Jughead" betty said.

No matter the reason, betty was still hurt that Veronica didn't tell her, and more to the point if she wanted to join the b and g she could have come up to her herself, why Jughead?

"So she told Jughead, then came to you?"

"No. Jughead asked me on her behalf" betty said

Archie widened his eyes. He was surprised "its like we don't know her or something... I mean she has been acting differently, and now she is even friends with Jughead"

Betty simply nodded " i guess you're right, but maybe she needs more time?"

"I think we have given her enough time but, i guess there's no harm in giving more" hee shrugged.

"Do you think that everything is changing? I mean me and jug don't really spend that much time together, after Hiram's arrest, could it be that our spark was mainly because we have a love for mystery and suspense and loved to investigate? What am i saying? ... It's too crazy" 

"No, its not crazy. To be honest, i feel the same way about Ronnie.  We haven't been seeing each other that much, she doesn't even invite me in her house, we are not talking that much and i mean in the start, it was great! But now its like everything has changed" Archie said

"Why can't things go back to the way they were? Us four, in a booth happy, just being normal teenagers" betty sighed

"I don't think there's anything Normal between us. I mean think about it, Veronica's father is a mobster, your father is the blackhood, Jughead has this whole southside gang and a father who has had his fair share of trouble and me, who has had an affair with Ms grundy, worked for Hiram lodge. How is this all considered to be normal?" Archie said raising his eyebrows

"So what are we ? Abnormal or just weird?"

"A bit of both actually"
