chapter 32

"that was hilarious" Kevin laughed as soon as they left the classroom.

Veronica laughed. Kevin smiled at his friends. They seemed quite better than the last few days.
Jughead walked beside them quietly smiling. It felt good to be back at school.

"Jughead, we were thinking, how about you shift all your classes with me? That way we don't need to face betty or archie alone" Veronica said snapping him out of his thoughts.

"Well, its a decent idea. What all subjects do you have?" Jughead questioned

"Literature, calculus, biology, creative writing, music, chemistry and physics" Veronica replied

" Wait these are 7 subjects."

"I take music classes as an additional assessment"

He nodded" other than music we have the same subjects. How come i didn't notice this before"

"Duh, coz you're not me"

"Very funny" he actually thought they only shared literature and calculus together

"Lets go to the office. We'll ask if they can change our schedule to match each other's." Jughead said

Veronica smiled and nodded. She followed jughead to the office and asked the receptionist about their schedules.

The receptionist said that it was possible to change their schedules since there were vacancies present , but it was a tiresome procedure

"We'll inform the teachers about this new development, please it would be a great help if you change my schedule to be like hers" jughead said while Veronica nodded

"Very well then, I'll prepare the schedule, it will be ready by tomorrow. Till then , shoo. Back to class you peeps" the receptionist said

"Peeps?" Jughead questioned Veronica as they left with amusement twinkling in his eyes

She grinned "she was trying to be cool. But failing. Miserably"

He laughed . They were heading to class when kevin ran to them.

"Kevin, everything alright?"

"I need to tell you guys something." He said

"What?" Jughead questioned

"You know that our junior prom is going to be held 2 months from now?"

"Yeah go on.." Veronica said

"………" Kevin couldn't mutter up his strength to say the next words he was about to say

"Kevin" jughead said

He sighed " betty and archie just bought the tickets and signed up for the prom king and queen campaign"

Jughead and Veronica were shocked. They hadn't thought they would have been bold enough to do this!

Veronica was angry. "We haven't even forgiven them yet,  heck its been 2 weeks only since they betrayed us. How could they just move on so quickly? All this time they were apologizing, those were empty! They weren't feeling guilty about what they did. They were doing it as an obligation!"

Jughead put his arm around Veronica, pulling her close to him trying to calm her "Ronnie, it's alright..those guys don't deserve our apologies"

Kevin noticed their closeness, and smirked mentally. He was shouting in his head yes!! Finally! Get closer!!…
He looked at them smugly and added "Veronica, those 2 have no idea what they just lost. Its their loss. So don't need to get worked up over them"

She laid her head on jugheads chest and nodded " i want to be not affected by them, i really do, but seeing them together hurts. Its really hurts" Veronica said quietly

Jughead tightened his hold on her bringing her closer, "hey, its normal okay? They were important parts of our lives. I know its hard, but like you said you aren't alone. We're here for you"

Kevin nodded. He was sad seeing Veronica being this vulnerable.

"How are you being so strong today jug? Yesterday you were a mess"

He smiled "i had you, who was being strong for me, even when you were hurting too. And today when you need me, I'm not going to be weak. We can support each other Veronica, be strong for each other"

She looked at him and smiled "thank you jughead"
And she looked at Kevin who was smiling at them and thanked him as well before heading to class.

Cheryl and Toni witnessed this. Yes, they were stalking them. Cheryl smirked at toni with a plan in her head.

"I know that look" Toni said looking at her girlfriend

"I have a sneaky plan involving prom king and queen"

"Care to explain?" Toni asked

Cheryl smiled and took her hand and headed to the table where the names of nominees of prom king and queen were being held.

Toni nodded understanding what was about to happen

"Are you sure Cheryl? I thought you wanted to be prom queen?"

Cheryl smiled "this is junior prom. Ill be prom queen next year"

Toni smiled. This was why she loved her. She may be sneaky, a bitch but she was always there for her friends.

Cheryl took out 2 slips of paper and gave one to toni to write the names.

Cheryl wrote Veronica, while toni wrote jughead and they put it in the box.

"We have to secretly campaign for them. They shouldn't know. We'll let this be a surprise. And i would love to see Archie's and Betty's fave when they hear about it" toni said laughing

Cheryl nodded "and that's why you're my girlfriend!"
