chapter 23

Archie and betty were completely unaware that they had been caught in their, well scandalous act. They had somehow made their own world, where they had pushed away all their guilt away, thinking no one will suspect their affair.

They had also decided to take the next step. If you're thinking coming clean to jughead and Veronica. Then no. They didn't want them to find out. It was their secret. They had decided to take the next step in their relationship.

Tomorrow, after the game, they would make love to each other. Betty felt shy just thinking about it.

She had to get ready. She felt like she was bursting with excitement! She wanted to tell  Veronica everything. She was her best friend, she tells her everything- she Shaked her head. What was she thinking? She can't tell anyone especially Veronica. And then all of a sudden, all the guilt she had pushed away came back to her, and she felt horrible.

She was cheating on her boyfriend with his best friend. And archie was cheating on his girlfriend with her best friend. So messed up. How did it all lead to this? She thought gloomily.

She entered in the b and g office to find jughead sitting on Veronica's desk, both of them to busy arguing over gone with the wind, she felt a smile lit up her face. At least they were happy. She convinced herself that them being in the dark was probably the best way for all of them to be happy.

"Whats going on guys? Betty said as she smiled

Veronica looked away from jughead and smiled at her "just telling jughead how wrong he is about-"

Betty lifted her hand as if to wave her off "don't wanna hear it"

Veronica looked at her amusingly "fine. Where were you anyway? You haven't finished your work till yet, that's very unusual for you"

Jughead nodded "yeah, you weren't here, when cheryl came looking for you either"

"Wait what? Cheryl was here?" She asked worried. Did she know?

" Oh she's just organising an afterparty after the bulldogs win, so she wanted you to post it in the newsletter." Veronica said as she shrugged

"Why? Is it bothering you? Jughead questioned, noticing her worried expression which she covered up by a smile

"Oh nothing. You know how she is...okay ill post it where's the article?"

"Uh..betty we did it, since you were busy, but doing what?" Jughead asked

"Oh just home stuff.." she lied fluently

"Oh there's something, me and Veronica are going together tomorrow for Cheryl's party"jughead told betty

Betty was so surprised that she at first couldn't get anything out from her mouth "you're going to a party?"

"Yeah, she said that i have to come. So..we know Cheryl will go ballistic if ahe won't see me there considering she told me to come along with all of you"

"And you're going with Veronica? Why didn't you ask me?"

"We decided that tomorrow we're going to enjoy, have a day to ourselves and plus i thought u would be going with archie, since you're always together now..." Jughead replied

Betty stood their awkwardly until Veronica said "shoot! We have to go jughead or else we will be late for chemistry"

"Shit! Yeah i completely forgot" he picked up his bag and took her hand and ran to the classroom.

Veronica was surprised but she didn't question jughead holding her hand, dragging her along. She just smiled and held his hand.

"Yes! Made it! With 5 seconds to spare" jughead announced while Veronica laughed

"God you run fast!" She said.

They were still holding hands. She noticed and smiled.

"You can leave my hand now jughead"she smirked at him

He looked down and saw that indeed he was holding her hand, quite tightly too, he got nervous and let go of her hand

"Oh, im sorry,. I .. i didn't realise.." he said embarrassed

She smiled. She loved seeing jughead flustered. " Don't be sorry, i know how much of a softie you are underneath all the dark sarcasm and humour"

He narrowed his eyes at her "very funny"

As predicted by Cheryl, bulldogs won. The other team didn't have a chance.  They all cheered for their team and soon got out to get ready for Cheryl's party.

Betty and archie headed home to get ready.

"Lets meet outside in 30 mins okay? Archie said

Betty nodded and smiled. She got on her toes and kissed him "can't wait"

He smiled lovingly. He couldn't wait for tonight.

Jughead and Veronica had decided to meet in pops. Well,more like Veronica told him to meet her at pops and they will go together

As they entered the mansion, they saw betty  and archie already present sitting together laughing.

They went to them and were about to question what they were laughing about when they heard the hostess speak.

"People. Listen up. Lets make this party happening and more fun, lets play a game!" She smirked and pointedly looked at the core 4
