Half term finally came after weeks of exam preparation. Wanting to give the students a break, the teachers organised a week long trip to the Lake District. Liam had never camped before but was encouraged by the light that shone in Sam's eyes as the teacher gave round the sign up sheet.

It turned out that the whole group had signed up for the trip and they took up the back of the bus. Liam and Sam nervously sat next to each other. Trying to give each other as much space as possible, Sam shifted closer to the window.

As the journey went on however, Sam left his eyes becoming heavy and eventually gave up, resting his head on Liam's shoulder. The other boy smiled softly at the golden head. Liam was desperate to run his hands through the soft hair that was the same colour as a wheat field on a summer's day.

Sighing, he let his head rest on top of the other boys' smelling the sweet scent of Sam's shampoo. Liam fell asleep with a small smile on his face.

The coach stopped at an empty campsite and Liam jolted awake. Shaking Sam gently, his heart swelled as he looked at the adorable boy rubbing his eyes awake "finally! Sorry was I sleeping on your shoulder the whole way?" Sam paled.

"I didn't mind... until you started drooling" Liam lied, joking.

Sam detected Liam's teasing "did not!" They continued to argue as they left the coach.

"Hey sleepyheads! Since you were arguing you don't get to pick your tents" Holly smiled cheekily. "Ok so obviously I'm with Emily and since Chris has already left with his mate Josh, you guys get the tent at the end"

Sam was sharing a tent with Liam. Alone. Sam couldn't seem to get the thought out of his mind as they put their stuff in and set up their beds.

They exited the tent and Liam stretched, working a knot out of his back, not noticing as Sam mentally panicked. Staring at the small area of skin where Liam's shirt had ridden up, Sam suddenly felt really thirsty.

Making his excuses, he ran to the tap, sighing as he filled up his water bottle.

"Ok so we will relax until dinner and then we are going to have a barbecue!" The teacher's we're overly preppy but the students were just glad to be getting some food.

Sam shuffled over to where Emily was standing "I'm going to tell the others" Emily said out of the blue.

"Shit! Ok then!" Sam laughed at the girl's frankness "when?"

"After dinner I think... we sneak over to the next field after dark and I'll tell them. Ok now shush" Emily gently slapped Sam's arm as the others came over.

"Anyone want to play cards" Holly shouted.

Sam was skeptical about playing, knowing how aggressive she got when they played. But the others all agreed so he went along with it.

They played until dinner, gently shoving each other when someone would win, laughing heartily when Holly threw her cards down in defeat. "I can't believe you won again Sam" Liam glanced over, surprised at the talent of the quiet boy "bloody cheat"

"Hey! You just can't handle my winning" Sam grinned

"First Mario Cart, now cards" Liam rubbed his eyes "this isn't fair! We should play sports next, then I'd thrash you" he teased causing Sam to start arguing.

The teachers called them all over for hotdogs and they ate their dinner quickly, groaning at how good the food felt after hours stuck on a bus.
