Chapter Six- SAT Stress

Cally's POV

The town's quarantine had been lifted but life wasn't the same, especially not in the Cooper house.

We had at least 20 patients from the Sisters sleeping in our living room and screaming all night long from G&G nightmares.

My mom was back at home after staying at the farm and Betty had practically kicked me out our room so Jughead could stay over.

I decided to turn Polly's room into my own since she was at the farm most of the time.

I woke up the next morning and went downstairs, where my mom and Betty were trying to spray breakfast for the kids from the Sisters.

"I am exhausted, Betty. We don't have the resources to shelter these children" my mom said.

"I agree with her Betty, its getting too much now" I said.

"The farm has enough space and food for these kids" mom added.

"Actually never mind let's keep them here" I said, knowing that it'd be cruel to send the kids to the farm.

"Mom, no. Can this please just wait until after the trial? The only reason they left the Sisters is because I convinced them to trust me. They've imprinted on me.. I'm their Gryphon Queen" Betty said, leaving both me and my mom confused as to what this means.

"Fine. But as their queen, they're your responsibility, not mine" mom said, walking away.

Betty sighed.

"I've gotta go, meeting with Sierra then a serpent meeting" she said.

Later I was with Veronica and Reggie at the speakeasy. Veronica needed to vent about her dad and Reggie was unloading some boxes and cleaning the bar.

All of a sudden we got a call from Josie.

"Oh my god, Josie has been attacked by the Gargoyles! We have to go" Veronica said, hanging the phone up.

We headed over to Josie's building and ran to her apartment.

"I'm so sorry this happened Josie. I'm paying someone a lot of money to make sure this exact same thing doesn't happen again" Veronica said.

I was sat next to Josie with my arm around her and Veronica was opposite us, Reggie stood behind her.

"They were from your fathers gang, weren't they?" Josie asked.

Veronica nodded.

"You know, whatever problems you've got with him, I can't be dragged into them. Either you get this mess straightened out or La Bonne Nuit finds itself a new headliner" Josie said.

Later, I met up with Betty and Jughead in Pops to have dinner and after me and Betty headed home.

"At the farm, you won't be the only ones doing chores. Everybody is equal" we heard Evelyn say, as we walked in.

We noticed my mom, Polly and Evelyn gathering the patients from the Sisters up.

"Um, Polly, Evelyn. What the hell is going on?" Betty asked.

"Mom called and said you had your hands full" Polly said.

"Want a t-shirt?" Evelyn asked me, offering me a farmies shirt.

"Uh no" I replied.

"And neither do they. Guys, don't take anything from these two vampires, okay? They're bribing you" Betty said.
