Chapter Twenty Five- Edgar Ascended

Edgar ordered some of his farmies to take Betty away. Cally watched as they picked her up, and carried her inside.

Once it was clear, she carefully crept into the entrance, and spotted them carrying Betty up the stairs.

They went down a long hallway, Cally assumed they were going to just lock her in a room, luckily Cally picked up some tricks from her sister, and has hair pins in at all times.

The farmies stopped and Cally panicked. If they turn around right now she'd be in full frontal view, and she wouldn't like to find out what happens to trespassers.

She ran into a closet which was on the hallway. Peeking out the door, the farmies no longer had Betty, and we're walking away.

She ran to the door that they were stood next to and tried the handle but as she assumed, it was locked.

Quickly, she pulled her pin out of her hair and jammed it inside the lock.

A few twists, and it was unlocked.

"Betty?" she whispered, entering what looked like a plain hotel room.

"Cally?!" she heard, she recognised the voice but it wasn't Betty, it was...

"Mom!" Cally cried, as she turned around to see her mom stood behind her.

Archie Andrews entered the arcade in a rage. Dodger and his crew have been targeting the community centre kids, and Archie cared a lot for these kids.

"Hey. You Dodger?" Archie asked, baseball bat in hand.

"Yeah" Dodger replied.

"Your days of exploiting kids to do your dirty work ends tonight. I want you and your little buddies out of Riverdale"

"You and that Louisville Slugger?" asked Dodger, referring to Monroe, "I'd take a closer look, friend. You're outnumbered 5 to 1"

"I'll take those odds"

Like Dodger said, Archie was heavily outnumbered. Yeah he was strong, yeah he can give as much as he can take but he still walked away undefeated, and black and blue.

Archie knew this was going to be a hard war to fight, but it was one that he wasn't going to give up on.

"Betty, come on wake up!"

"Elizabeth"

"Mom? Cal? Where are we?" said Betty, waking up.

"In one of the motel rooms. Edgar's been keeping me here ever since he figured out that I was the mole" replied Alice.

"I'll kill him" said Betty.

"We both will. But we need a plan" said Cally.

"Girls, I'm so sorry. I was trying to keep you both safe. I didn't want you to know. I needed to get Polly out"

"Do you know what Edgar's plan is?" Betty asked.

"Evelyn is going to drive the bus full of farmies off of a cliff as a distraction, while he takes off in his rocket"

"What?!"

"Wow, I can't believe those words just came out of your mouth" said Cally.

"Yeah, he's been building one"

"Because harvesting organs isn't enough. What is he planning to do with us?" Betty asked.

"We're gonna be tied to the front of the bus as shields, unless we can figure a way out of here"

"Hey, I've got it" said Cally, pulling a pin out of her hair.

Betty smiled at her sister, proudly.

"Alright ladies, times up let's go" said Evelyn, bursting into the motel room.

Betty, Cally and Alice were hiding behind the door, and as Evelyn stepped into the room, Betty hit her, hard.

"Now we just have to make it to the courtyard without being shot" said Betty, taking Evelyn's gun off her.

"Edgar has decreed okay everyone? It's time to go, keep moving" shouted Betty, getting all the farmies on the bus to take them back to Riverdale.

"That's the thing about cults, speak with enough authority and they'll do anything you say" said Alice.

"Once we drive the farmies out, Charles can come in and take Edgar down" said Cally.

All of a sudden Betty bumped into one of the Farmies, Fangs. He grabbed her.

"Traitor. There is a trait-" shouted Fangs, but Betty punched him before he could raise any attention.

"He's fine. Get him on the bus"

"Oh no" said Alice, pointing to a bunch of stairs that Edgar was heading up. He was heading to his rocket early, he'd figured out their plan, "give me the gun. Stay here, get everyone on the bus, I'll stop him"

"Ok everybody keep going!" Betty and Cally shouted.

They spotted Waldo Weatherbee, with a bandage around his hand, full of blood.

"Mr Weatherbee"

"I told Edgar I wasn't the mole, he wouldn't listen. He cut it off. Betty, Cally, I don't know how I let myself get embroiled in this madness" he said.

"Mr Weatherbee, this is your last shot at redemption, okay? Get everybody on this bus, please!" said Betty.

We both ran off to find Alice and Edgar, while Betty called Charles to tell him to stand down.

Cally and Betty frantically ran up the spiral staircase, but they heard a gunshot that made them both jump out of their skin.

"Oh my god!"

They reached the top, and saw their mom had shot Edgar, not the other way about.

"Edgar ascended"

When they got back to the Cooper/Jones house, yes, they'd all be living there, Cally saw that she had loads of missed calls and texts from Archie.

"Guys, I'm gonna go next door" Cally said.

She left them all to chat and went over to Archie's house.

She knocked on the door, and Archie ran downstairs and swung the door open.

"Thank god, I was so worried" he said, pulling her into a tight hug.

Archie let Cally get into one of his t-shirts, and they laid cuddling in bed.

"How's your mom and Polly?" Archie asked.

"My mom is already working on her exposé of the Farm. Polly started this program at the Shady Grove treatment centre, she's getting the help that she needs"

"What about Charles? Can you trust him? I know you was sceptical"

"Yeah. I think we can"

Cally sat up and kissed Archie.

The doorbell rang.

"Who-"

"Is your mom home?" Cally asked.

"Yeah she's in bed"

Cally and Archie headed downstairs and on the step outside of Archie's door was a videotape.
