SPOILER ALERT ⚠️
the events in season 2 of Lost Souls are based from season 4 of Riverdale. If you haven't yet began to watch season 4, don't read unless you want to be spoiled.

[[ DISCLAIMER

I am not in anyway changing the Riverdale Luke Perry tribute. I'm simply adding Cally into the story.

The writers wrote a beautiful episode and I wouldn't ever disrespect that.

Thanks, hope you enjoy💓 ]]

It's been a quiet few months in Riverdale. Spring slid into summer, and some semblance of normal life resumed.

The terrors of the Farm weren't forgotten, but they had started to fade.

Gryphons and Gargoyles was already becoming the stuff of suburban legend.

Indeed, the big topic of conversation around town was July 4th. After some debate, it was decided that there would be an Independence Day parade down Main Street, Riverdale's first in three years.

But there would be no fireworks display over Sweetwater River. The Blossoms used to sponsor them, but without their support, the town couldn't afford them.

Yeah, things had been pretty quiet lately.

Cally laid in bed, cuddling up next to her boyfriend, Archie. Their relationship? It was in a great place.

There was no rocky roads, no G&G cards threatening Archie's life, no Farm threatening Cally's. All was good.

"Can we just stay here forever?" Archie smiled, pulling his girlfriend closer.

"I wish. But we have to help Veronica finish building her float for her big Forth of July parade" Cally told him.

"It's not Veronica's parade, it's the town's. Pop's is just sponsoring it" Archie replied.

Cally and Archie were also in a good place with Veronica. It felt as if there was an underlying tension between them a few months ago, the whole best friend dating your ex thing.. yeah. But now that Veronica is happy with Reggie, Cally and Archie don't have to worry.

"Well, we can't stay here forever, or even for the day. But how about an hour?" Cally negotiated.

"Hell yeah" Archie smiled, pulling the covers over the two of them.

Cally and Archie finally forced themselves up out of bed and once they were dressed, they headed over to Pops to meet Betty, Jug, Veronica and Reggie.

The six of them were working on Veronica's float, which of course was a giant milkshake, when Cheryl Blossom's cherry red car pulled up outside of the diner.

"Well, well, well. Stop the presses. The Riverdale rag finally reported a story accurately. Not only is there going to be some hideous, janky parade snaking it's way through town, you six are the architects of this rage" Cheryl mocked.

"What's your problem, Cheryl?" Veronica asked.

"My problem, Veronica, is that the Fourth of July is a day of tragedy for Riverdale, not celebration. Or have you forgotten what happened to my poor brother Jason?"

"Cheryl, Riverdale hasn't held a parade out of respect for what happened to your brother in like.. years. I think it's time" Betty told her.

"I mean, you don't have to come" Jughead added.
