Chapter Fifteen- Trapping the King

Cally's POV

I arrived at the prison, the guard said I only had a few minutes as the van to move him to Hiram's prison was on its way.

A few minutes was all I needed.

I walked down the dark corridor to his cell.

"Cally. When they said I had a visitor I was expecting Betty" he said.

"Sorry to disappoint. I heard you have been having many conversations with Betty, filling her head with lies"

"You know, it upsets me that you don't visit me more. I hope that changes in my new prison"

"It upsets me that I even had to be here today," I said, mocking his tone, "but I came with a warning"

"A warning?" He asked.

"Yes. A warning. If Betty comes to visit you one more time, you deny it. Say you don't want to see her. Or I swear to god, Dad, you'll never see the light of day again" I said.

I did realise I was threatening a serial killer, and he probably wasn't intimidated at all but I was hoping that somewhere, deep inside his evil, dark soul he cared about us.

"We'll see about that"

And with that I walked out.

The next day, I headed over to Archie's gym.

Him and Mad Dog were already there.

Archie had told me last night that he got the blood money from Elio and gave it to Randy's family.

"Archie get in here, I need a partner" Mad Dog said, in the ring practising while Archie was sweeping up.

"Babe, you need to get back on the horse or you never will" I said.

"Yeah, well maybe that's the way things should be. I don't wanna be known as the Riverdale Reaper" Archie replied, still sweeping.

I took the brush off him.

"You made amends with the Ronson's the best way you could. That money will help them have a funeral for Randy, and move on to the future. Now it's time to look to your future. You're not Riverdale's reaper, if anything, you're it's Red Hope"

He chuckled.

"I'm serious, you know, Betty might move on to be a brainiac, Veronica a badass business woman, Jughead a writer, or investigator. Me, well, who knows? But you, you're Riverdale's soul, it's only hope for success"

"I don't know.." he hesitated.

"Please, for me" I smiled.

He smiled back.

"Okay"

He got his gloves and joined Mad Dog in the ring.

I went back to Veronica's to study and Betty and Veronica were sat on the sofas waiting for me to get home.

"What's going on?" I asked.

"I don't know. She wouldn't tell me until you got here" Betty said.

"Your dad and a few other inmates were being transported to my father's prison and there was some kind of accident" Veronica told us.

"Did he escape?" Betty asked.

"No. But, there were no survivors"

We decided to head to the crime scene for peace of mind.
