Cally's POV

Me and Betty were downstairs having breakfast before heading to school.

She was asking me about how Archie was doing because she knew how we had been spending a lot of time together.

I decided not to tell her yet that me and Archie had a weird.. moment. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't over thinking things before I tell her.

"Morning girls" my mom said as she came downstairs.

"Morning mom" we both replied.

She put a long bag down on the counter that look like the one her wedding dress came in.

Me and Betty exchanged a confused look.

"Is that your wedding dress?" Betty asked.

"It is. I'm getting it altered" she replied.

"Are you getting married?" I asked, sarcastically.

"In a sense, I'm being baptised into the farm"

"Sorry.. you're what?!" Betty questioned.

"Edgar says I'm finally ready. All the women from the farm are gathering Sunday night at the new facility" mom smiled, then walked into the lounge.

"Let's go to school before my head explodes" I said to Betty, grabbing my bag.

We got to school and Betty went off to chat with Jughead and I headed to the lounge to hang around before classes started.

When I got there, Archie was sat staring into space.

I was worried things would be awkward after the other night but I realised I was being stupid. I've known Archie for at least 10 years, there's no need for anything to be awkward.

"Good morning, Red" I said, sitting beside him on the sofa.

"Hey Cally, morning" he smiled.

"How you doing?" I asked.

"Great, actually. I was wondering if you wanted to get in some more rehearsal at lunch?" He asked.

"I can't, I've got a meeting with a college advisor. I've gotta figure out what I'm doing, as I have no college funds. But I can after school?"

"I can't after school, I've got my first training session with Mr Keller"

"Oh, we've always got tomorrow. Well your first training session sounds exciting, are there any college scholarships for boxing out there?" I asked.

"No, but stepping between those ropes, Cally, it keeps me in a good headspace. Helps me forget about everything else going on outside the ring"

"That's good. But hey, don't be forgetting about everything outside the ring" I joked.

"Who could forget you?" He replied, smiling.

The bell for first class rang.

"Well I should get going, but you better invite me to your first fight" I told him.

"Of course"

Later, I was at my locker putting a few things away after my meeting with the college adviser. It went well, if I continue keeping my grades up I can get into college on a scholarship.
