Lost Souls (Archie Andrews)

Chapter Twenty Eight- Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving, a time where friends and family gather to eat turkey, watch the big game and give thanks for all they have.

But for Archie, this year was all about what he'd lost. It was the first Thanksgiving without his father. And the void that Fred Andrews left was as cold as the winds blowing through the town.

And while Archie was thinking of ways to give back, Riverdale's new mayor, Hiram Lodge, was grabbing all that he could.

Hiram Lodge had run unopposed, allowing him to ascend to power virtually overnight.

Meanwhile, across town, at Riverdale General Hospital, a different family gathering was taking place.

For the Dickenson crime clan, the only dish on the Thanksgiving menu was revenge.

Weather forecasters were calling for an epic ice storm, and you could literally feel the temperate dropping.

Archie had decided to keep his community centre open and cook Thanksgiving meals for everybody.

Cally and Betty were sitting chatting in Betty's room about thanksgiving.

"Can you believe mom's going out of town for Thanksgiving?" Cally joked.

"I know, she wouldn't have gone if it bothered us, but I'm spending Thanksgiving with Jug and you with Archie so I think it's good for her. Plus, it's her first Thanksgiving with FP" said Betty.

"Yeah, are you sure you're gonna make it to Stonewall with this storm on the way?"

"Yes, nothing is going to stop me from seeing Jughead this week"

"So here we are, boys. A true Thanksgiving feast" said Cally, showing Munroe, Reggie and Archie the food she managed to get.

"Cal, how the hell did you get all this?" asked Archie, looking in disbelief.

"My mom and dad used to take me and Betty to the country club when we were younger, they loved us. So when I called for an order they were happy to help" she explained.

Munroe laughed, as he spotted the deep fryer, "red, tell me this doesn't mean you're deep frying a Thanksgiving turkey"

"Yes! I am. It's tradition, my dad would do one every year" Archie said.

"Best damn turkey I ever tasted" said FP, walking into the centre.

"You should stop by tomorrow, Mr Jones" said Archie.

"I can't son, headed out of town with Alice. I just came to let you know that this is still an open crime scene due to the attack on Dodger. Hiram wants to shut you down but I managed to get it pushed back until after then, so don't worry about it tomorrow, enjoy your day" he said.

"Thank you, FP"

"You heading out now?" Cally asked.

"Yeah, your mom is just packing the last of the bags"

"Okay, have fun you two. Tell her I'll call her tomorrow"

"I will, happy Thanksgiving guys" said FP, heading out.

On Thanksgiving day, everyone down at the community centre was getting prepared for dinner.

Mary Andrews and Munroe's grandmother were doing the cooking, whilst Munroe, Reggie, Archie and Cally were putting plates out and getting the kids excited for Thanksgiving.
