Spirit week has arrived at Riverdale High. And for the first time in years, the students had something to celebrate.

The long-suffering Bulldogs, thanks to breakout star Munroe Moore, were finally going to the state finals, where they would take on the undisputed titans of the gridiron, the Stonewall Stallions.

For Principle Honey, who commissioned an article about the game from reporter Betty Cooper, the championship was something positive to promote.

But for Riverdale's star QB, Archie Andrews, the Spirit Week was special for a different reason. It would be the last of his career.

Archie had spent some time bonding with his Uncle Frank, and they were getting on well. The only thing was that Mary and Frank didn't get on.

Mary agreed to give Frank a job at Andrew's construction, but only because she said she knew it wouldn't last and he would be out of town by the end of the week.

Veronica was still in a rum war with her dad, Betty was spending her time interviewing the Bulldogs and the Stonewall Stallions about the championships and Cheryl was up against Principle Honey and the new cheerleading coach.

All was going well until Munroe got attacked outside the community centre by the stonies. They got him in his knee which threatens his ability to play football.

Betty, Veronica and Cally were at Veronica's place talking about Munroe.

"Based on the masks that those creeps were wearing, it was definitely the stonies that attacked Munroe. It was probably Bret. I want to break the story in the blue and gold but I need proof, or a confession. Reggie said he heard that Stonewall is throwing a party tonight to get everyone psyched up for the game" Betty explained.

"Do I smell another classic B, V and C caper?" Veronica joked.

"Just a V and C caper, unfortunately. I can't get close to Bret, he knows me. But I was hoping you two could go, turn on some charm?" Betty asked.

"Sounds good to me" said Cally, Veronica agreed.

"Would you both be willing to wear a wire?"

"Absolutely. And I think I have just the tonic to help loosen Bret's lips" said Veronica.

-

Betty was sat in Charles' office listening to Veronica and Cally who were giving her information about the party.

Veronica and Cally entered, Veronica in a blonde wig and Cally in a brown one.

"It's a football party hosted by Stonewall's lame-ass secret society" said Cally.

"And there's Bret. God, I can smell his privilege from across the room. Ok, we're going in" Veronica told Betty through her earpiece.

Veronica and Cally had already made a plan.

Cally approached Bret first.

"Hi fellas, I'm Kelly. You wouldn't happen to be rum drinkers, by any chance? Because if you are, I'm taking orders" Cally smiled.

Bret looked her up and down, "go back to my room, undress, and wait for me"

"Excuse me?"

"You said you were taking orders?" Bret laughed with his friend.

"Well, would you like some rum or not? Because my friend over there makes the most insane spiced rum" said Cally.

Veronica approached the boys with the bottle of rum.
