Chapter Four

"So? See you soon?" Groian implied.

I nodded swiftly and slowly closed the door of my apartment.

That one day I spent in Batangas with Groian made me somehow unexpectedly happy, relaxed and fulfilled.

For so long I felt an extensive emptiness and I felt dry as dust, wrinkling in the air with no worth. It happened after the death my mother. Losing her felt like losing my only refuge and my only comfort. It left me devastated, engulfing me with overwhelming emotions that I could not take. Then slowly I became like a rock. Stiff. Harder than before.

I checked my phone and texted Groian.

Thanks for the vacation.

I contacted Meg for updates too. I was relieved that she did everything I expected her to do.

I thanked her before dozing off to sleep.

Nagising na lang ako kinaumagahan na mayroong nag do-door bell sa aking pintuan. Niyakap ko ang roba ko sa sarili at bumaba. Binuksan ang main door at nabigla sa tumambad sa aking harapan.

"Good morning,"

"What are you doing here, Groian?" Tanong ko at napatingin sa hawak niyang bouquet ng kulay puti at pulang rosas. Maayos ang pagkakagawa at humahalimuyak ang bango. May bitbit din siyang tupperwares.

"Hindi mo ba ako papapasukin?"

"Ah, sorry. My manners." I chuckled lightly and let him in.

"Kakagising ko lang." Sabi ko at medyo nahiya pa dahil paniguradong magulo nga ang buhok ko. Napasulyap ako sa salamin.

"Okay lang. Maganda ka pa rin." Aniya.

"Here, I have it crafted for you." Inabot niya ang bouquet sa akin.

"Thanks, Groian."

"I brought breakfast too. I stopped by at our mansion earlier and I figured I should bring you my mother's Tinola. You can reheat it."

"Thank goodness. I don't have to cook for breakfast." I said smiling.

I have learn to somehow be comfortable and loosen up around him.

But the thought of her mother somehow terrified me. Vexana Maria Visoza Astallo is a renowned architect. The reason why she's the best and perfect match for George Astallo, a renowned and successful engineer. They are well-respected and everyone admired them. Including me.

"Pakisabi kay Mrs. Astallo, salamat."

"Don't worry, I'll tell her."

Kumain kami ni Groian ng breakfast. Mabilis lang dahil marami akong appointment. Dadaan din kasi ako sa Dairy Pleasures mamaya. Kakausapin ko ang chairman of the board at ipapaalam sa kanya ang kinaso ko kay Daddy. Groian will help me too so I can be appointed as the CEO of the company. Hindi ko hahayaan na mawala ang Dairy Pleasures. Hinding-hindi.

After I took a bath, I dressed up with a black fitted tube dress highlighting my curves. I paired it with a black business coat, black suede pumps from Morgan Clare. Completed by a silver bangles, high ponytail, soft makeup look and a winged eyeliner.

Bumaba ako. Nasa sala si Groian at abala sa cellphone ngunit nang makita ako ay lumawak ang ngiti.

"Madam CEO," Biro niya.

"Don't joke about it, Groian. It'll come true." I said confidently. He nodded and smirked, eyeing me from head to toe.

My door rang and I rushed to open the door only to find out that my father, Stephen Go is at the door with a furious look.
