"I have something I need to tell you...about your father and something about myself." My mother said. "I'll start with your father, he wasn't human. He was a demon but he was different than most. We met when I was hunting him while he was hunting another demon." My mother began, I was not believing her at first but I decided to hear her out.

"Then there's me. I was an angel, yes they exist. I had been an angel when I met your father and I ended up sparing him, after that my rank was lowered but I snuck out of heaven to see your father. I was already pregnant with you and Janice by the time the Archangels showed up, I used the last of my grace to keep you and Janice alive after the Archangels ripped out most of my grace and turned me into human. It didn't matter to me because I was already considered a fallen angel. I don't regret it either." My mother said.

"What does this have to do with us?" I asked her.

"I'm surprised your handling this so well, although knowing you its just a matter of time before you start freaking out. You and Janice are half demon and half angel, a hybrid that hasn't ever existed. The angels don't know about you and the demons don't either but I think they will soon. I never mentioned your heritage because you never seemed any different than any other child." Mom continued to explain.

Mom looked closer at Janice's wings. "She's got my wings..." Mom said with a smile. "You've got your father's power, he'd be proud. I never lied about how he died, he did die hunting demons." She said softly.

"So we're not human at all?" I asked her.

"No you're not, I already explained it though Blake." She said. Janice groaned from beside me and slowly pushed herself up.

"Mom? Blake? What happened?" She asked. She was still half asleep.

"Honey, don't freak out!" Mom called as Janice noticed something was off. Slowly she turned her head and saw the two black wings folded on her back. She jumped to her feet and when she did the wings unfurled. "Janice! They're yours! You're not able to get away from them!" Mom called as Janice began trying to get away from the wings.

She tripped and slammed her back into the wall. She cried out as her wings took most of the impact. "What's to going on?!" She yelled, she was full blown panicking. I grabbed a back and handed it to her.

Slowly she calmed down and her wings went from being raised to lowering until they folded neatly against her back. I looked over at the computer screen as I heard what sounded like a door being kicked in. My mother had a strange blade in her hand.

"Tell us where to find them Anali." They told her. They pronounced it as On-a-lee and that's not the name I was told by my mother.

"You won't get them Marcosis, they're too strong. They were taught by me and Sainzen." She told them.

"Sainzen is dead and we've come to eliminate you Anali, we don't want this but it's for the best." The man named Marcosis said.

"Blake, end the call, now." My mother said. I did as she said, I learned when I was younger to obey my mother's and fathers orders no matter what.

I explained to Janice what our mother had explained to me. She just listened and when I was done all she asked was, "so we've been lied to our entire lives?"

"What do I do with these wings, I can't walk around with them." Janice told me.

"Pass it off as a costume." I told her.

"Really? It won't work Blake. Let's go back, we need to know what's going on and there's safety in numbers." Janice said, she was referring to the bar.
