Ding, ding, ding, the alarm said, Kile opened his eyes to see his first command of the day appear before him. "Wake up! Wake up!" A voice said inside his head. "Time to work! Time to work!" It said.
Kile waited, listening to the footsteps approaching. "Hey there Kile, you ready to open up?" A man said as he opened the door, breaking up the darkness, allowing light in.
"I am always ready Jim. What are my orders?" Kile asked, his LED blinking as he awaited for his commands.
"Same as always, also, think you can clean the bathrooms before we open? Should have had you do it before powering off last night." He told Kile.
"Yes, sir, on it, sir," Kile said, his instructions appeared before him, slowly fading into the background.
"Also, order a new espresso machine, ours is on the fritz again," Jim said.
Kile's eye blinked rapidly, his LED's light spinning in a circle before going back to normal. "Done, the new espresso machine should arrive by this afternoon, around 2:34 PM," Kile told Jim.
"I don't know what I would do without you, remember, Kile, listen to the customers no matter what, they're always right. Never argue with them." Jim said, resting a hand on Kile's shoulder.
"Understood, Jim, may I get to my tasks now?"
"Go on, get to work," Jim said before retreating to his office.
Kile set to work wiping the counters down, cleaning the glass both inside and outside the display case and setting up the machines to begin brewing fresh coffee. As Kile began baking fresh baked goods, he went back to the supply closet where Jim stores him at night. Grabbing the cleaners he would need, a bucket and a mop, Kile headed for the bathroom.
*Mop floors
*Sweep floors
*Clean toilet
*Clear sink drain
*Empty trash
*Restock toilet paper and paper towel
*Refill soap dispenser
Kile grabbed the broom, swept, then mopped. After restocking the toilet paper, paper towel and refilling the soap dispenser, Kile turned to the sink. Grabbing the drain snake, Kile scanned the drain. "That ring is what is clogging the drain? I wonder who lost it..." Kile said as he used the snake to pull the ring and any other blockage out.
After Kile had cleaned the toilet and emptied the trash, he washed his hands before returning to the cafe. "I have cleaned the bathroom, Jim!" Kile called to him.
"Is the coffee brewed and the muffins baked?" He asked.
"Taking the muffins out now, the coffee has been brewed and the displays are spotless. The floors were swept, mopped and waxed last night. The tables have been cleaned and disinfected, as well as the counter, shall we open now, Jim?" Kile asked.
"Did you make sure everything in the cafe is stocked?" Jim asked as he came out of his office.
"No, not yet, sorry, sir," Kile said, his LED blinking red instead of blue. "I will do that now."
"No, no, it's alright Kile, go ahead, open the cafe, I'll check and stock everything, make sure the menu is up to date," Jim said.
"Yes, sir," Kile said, putting his hand on the door to the cafe, changing the words from Closed, to Open. "Jim, the sign is gone," Kile said.
"What do you mean?" Jim asked Kile.
"The menu, it's not here," Kile told him.
"Kile, call the dump, make sure they didn't pick it up on accident," Jim said.
