Ever since I was a young girl,
I was shown love to be nothing
But a waste of feeling.I saw love as anger, as disgust,
As something that isn't truly there.
And from that, I was a lost girl.I tried to find "love" in those
I thought would reciprocate.
Every time I looked, I found nothing. And then, there was you.
I thought of you
As another potential person
To keep, to hold, to love.I pray that the universe will be kind
To me and to you as we grow.
And if there is a chance for us,
Let's take it.Let's see what we're all about.
