As time passes between us,
And as the distance grows,
You remain in all corners of my mind.
I always recall
The memories we share,
Sweet and full of happiness,
Love and openness
That allowed us to feel truly safe.
And even when
You aren't on my mind
During the day,
I see you in my dreams
And wake up in a cold sweat.
As every thought passes through me,
I realize so much about our bond
And its wholesome being:
How we were beautiful in meeting,
Tragic in our vulnerability,
And the fact that no other person
Could have been as important
To me as you are, and
No other magic could ever compare.
And my dear,
I will never not think about you
And I might spend my whole life
Getting over you.
