I've always been present
For my friends' downfalls.
Where they fall off their pedestals
And fear the idea of not being able
To crawl back up to where they were.
I've always held their hand
And told them they'd be okay,
I've always listened to their words
And did my best to fix them.And when they're back up there,
I'm left behind.
And when they're far away,
I'm abandoned.
An empty home, full of warmth
And love, being exploited due to
Those qualities, wholly consumed.And the worst part of it all;
I won't be lifted back up when I fall.
